Janowicz upset Monfils, who is the first top 16 eliminated

I was wrong, Simon was also eliminated by Karlovic. That was a really tough draw for the 10 seeded player, to meet Karlovic, ranked 21 in the first round

Honey, that's why it's called a "Masters;" tough draws starting in the 1st round! I noted on the women's side that Bencic just won Toronto, but #11 Kerber has to deal with her in their first match! Awful draws for both the men and women because its so deep! :cover :eyepop  :dodgy:

This is the kind of info I used to be able to find easily on the ATP's site, but can't anymore.

You can find this sort of info at core tennis . Also, it will sort the players based on the parameter that you select, just click on any column heading.

That's terrific. Thanks, GSM.

You will notice that both John Isner and Ivo Karlovic are the two leaders of tie-break winners this year (click on 7-6 column) with 31 and 23 TB wins respectively While that is not surprising, the interesting thing is that they are the two leaders in the number of tie-breakers lost (click on 6-7 column) with 24 and 29 losses respectively. All this means is that, as we all know, they can take a set to tie-breaker with a high probability but not necessarily win the tie breaker.

BTW, Novak has delivered ten bagels this years (with Andy being a return customer buying it twice).

Both Isner and Karlovic are throwbacks to my generation of "all serve" and not much else! Both have a little extra with a volley or good forehand, but they aren't very successful breaking serve! As a result, they survive by taking TB's like McEnroe, John Alexander, Roscoe Tanner, and so many others before the 1980's! :dodgy: :popcorn

tennis.com do a good stats page, in terms of matches won/lost and the percentage.

Here is some video and article about Kokk's brush up with Ryan . Kokk made it to the main draw in Cincy. He plays the head case Fog. If he wins, he may be facing Kyrgios. If Kyrgios wins his first match, his second match will be interesting either way as it will be against the Master of antics Fog or against the buddy whom he outed. But, Kyrgios has a tough opener against Gasquet. :popcorn

Fognini one set up on Kokkinakis. A win will spare us the spectacle of a Kokkinakis-Kyrgios match in the 2nd round.

The commentators are making such a big deal out if it too! Isner's to play Querrey tomorrow and the Spanish Armada have been going at it in early rounds for years! I don't understand! :puzzled :nono  :dodgy: :cover :eyepop

I don't think I can stomach a Kokkinakis-Kyrgios match. Please do us a favor Gasquet!

I like Krygios and Kokki..they are not politically correct and stir the pot.I am tired of this vanilla men s tour where everybody loves each other and they say thank you madam or thank you sir...just a bunch of fake playerss.I love that these young Aussies get in your face and gives us entertainment, tired of Jokovic and Murray matches....
go Nick and Thanasis!
