I kinda feel like, Novak has won his semifinal already - and he hasn't even played his QF yet!

Even if they turn it into a fifth set, this match should not be too taxing for either. The match kind of centres around the serve.

Yeah but I'm thinking, it'll be Cilic's third five set match (is it?), and if he wins he already has a losuy record against Nole without going into the match with this erratic form - and the other option is, well, Tsonga...

And we have a deciding set. Curious to see if Tsonga will pull a Monfils or pull through.

Or if Cough Drop will Coffin Drop - or pull it together...

Second five-setter today. Erratic form still gets either of the two in the semis and that means they are tough to beat. I'm not going to underestimate these two, also because of their serves.

At the same time, though, if Novak makes it, Im going for Novak in four against either.

Cilic is refusing to win right now

Tsonga took it to him on matchpoints though.

One thing to consider is the winner gets two days off so the long match shouldn't matter.

I remember Jo play Djoko in AUO final 2008 (after dismantling young Rafa in sf). Who would of thought that Djoko will have 9 gs and Jo none!? He can play some good tennis but inconsistent as hell. Cilic should've won this already

Djokovic was ranked number 3 in the world and had reached the final of the US Open the slam before. Tsonga on the other hand was unseeded. The career slam prediction is a bit hard at such an early point in their careers, but Djokovic had clearly shown a lot more potential up to that point.

Cilic FINALLY gets the break. Had he not broken there, I'd have counted him out. Now, if he can just hold serve...

Yeah but Jo simply destroyed Rafa in that match (something that Nole would not do until 2011). I remember Djoko was huge favorite even back than but I expected for Jo to actually win some major in his career.

Not sure if I should be impressed by Cilic's fluky resolve to hang in there or disgusted by Tsonga's inability to make the final push when he had Cilic down.

You do realise Djokovic actually beat Tsonga in that final?

I'm impressed with Cilic's resolve...so far. He could have easily folded by now after urinating away all of those match points. He could still choke, though. We'll see soon enough.
