Fluky Cilic wins again. Tsonga should have had that after the 4th set. So if Djoko wins, we have a 0-13 matchup. Fun!

wow, cilic sneaks over the line and into a sf against who?..djoko/Feliciano.

shame that Tsonga didn't get going until he was 2 sets down..slow starts hurt him often.

Crap...just watched the last two points only ...but congrats I guess to Cilic. Was there peaks and valleys in this match? Has to be, judging by the amount of tennis played...

I'd say this match showed how much the pressure of defending is getting to Cilic.

I remember Jo play Djoko in AUO final 2008 (after dismantling young Rafa in sf). Who would of thought that Djoko will have 9 gs and Jo none!? He can play some good tennis but inconsistent as hell. Cilic should've won this already

Djokovic was ranked number 3 in the world and had reached the final of the US Open the slam before. Tsonga on the other hand was unseeded. The career slam prediction is a bit hard at such an early point in their careers, but Djokovic had clearly shown a lot more potential up to that point.
Yeah but Jo simply destroyed Rafa in that match (something that Nole would not do until 2011). I remember Djoko was huge favorite even back than but I expected for Jo to actually win some major in his career.

I expected jo to win a slam more than I expected wawrinka to win a slam. But the difference between jo and Djokovic is not that surprising, even if many didn't expect 2011 to happen. In 2008 there was talk of this tho, cause Djokovic had just straight setted federer, who was still very much the number 1 player (Nadal had not yet beaten him outside clay at the slams).

One can hope I guess. No expectations.

You do realise Djokovic actually beat Tsonga in that final?
Heh, "internet warriors" and their idols :)
Yeah i realized that he won in that final but in semis he defeat Roger (with mono) and Jo evaporated Rafa (you do realize that Roger and Rafa were huuuuge stars for both of them back then ;)). He also have couple of big victories against big 4 but he never manages to capitalize on big stage!?

Rafa had not won a single slam outside the French. You're making too much out of that win. Beating federer in straights was much more impressive considering federers record on hards. And please don't give me the mono crap, or talk about rafas knees for that matter.

At the present Cilic can be tougher opponent than Tsonga who always has been very untestable, he can play excellent one day but not so much the next one. I'm glad that Cilic has won
