Putin would never have done this if Trump was in power. He waited till there was a weak asf president with Biden. He also would never have done this if the west hadn't pushed forward with NATO expansion. He gave them ample warnings but they didn't listen. He also offered a peace deal not long after the conflict started that the US said don't sign and sent Boris Johnson over to Kyiv to babble with that little corrupt US fund embezzling weasel Zelenskyy. This is a terrible analogy. If nothing else, it’s an example of “two wrongs don’t make it right.” But I agree with your next part …
There is certainly truth behind this. War is a money-maker for enough rich and powerful people to keep it in business.
This is where it becomes messy: the population put Hamas into power, so they’re guilty of empowering and supporting this regime. This didn’t arise from a one-man dictatorial grab at power. Unfortunately, this means there may be no getting rid of Hamas. It’s a wartime game of Whac-A-Mole. Or, as Yeats put it, “How can we know the dancer from the dance?”
I wouldn’t say it’s a proxy war between the US and Russia. This is Putin exercising his egotistical, craven desires for more land, more power, all the while knowing any country will only go so far to stop him without risking their own level of destruction.
It's 100% a proxy war between the US and Russia. That pos Lindsey Graham said they want to "fight to the last Ukrainian". The US couldn't gaf about Ukraine. They're simply trying to weaken Russia without a single US soldier on the ground. That's the very definition of a proxy war.
