These shutdowns are becoming more comical by the day. It's actually entertaining. Look at the clown Fauci on March 8th, 2020.....

When Dr. Fauci said people should not be wearing masks

Was not the recommendation changed once they realized that asymptomatic people can be carriers of the virus? When you learn a new fact, what is wrong in adapting to the situation? Do you want people to stick to their position without regard to new facts. Then, we should all be thinking that sun revolves around the earth because that was the position of scientists once. The one thing that separates science from religion or politics is that scientific facts are neither dogmatic nor final. Science always evolves.

So let me get this straight.. There are three different levels of Republicans..Those who qualify for the 2% (the Mitch Romney acknowledged), the lower to mid middle class and the ones who are on welfare. I had a long discussion with one of my colleagues who lives in the DC area who is a Democrat but is married to a woman's who family are members are extremely right wing Republicans. Cali, I trying to understand what classification are you in.

Just I stated in 2015 and it should be apparently clear to everyone who is a Christian who Trump is..What else does he has to do to prove that he is .

Okay, great. Then are the likes of Federberg and Moxie willing to admit that they and others on their side of this silly issue were wrong about Florida and Georgia re-opening too soon? We just got new data two days ago in an Axios report showing that their fears were unfounded.

Federberg…..are you ready to admit that you were totally wrong about this? Be a scientist and admit it. Don't insist that the sun revolves around the earth now! Look at how great Florida and Georgia are doing:

High-risk states are seeing fewer new coronavirus cases

Some of the states that skeptics were most worried about, including Florida and Georgia, haven’t seen the rise in total cases that some experts feared.

  • Florida’s new cases have actually declined by 14% compared to the previous week, and Georgia’s fell by 12%.

I have a dear childhood friend of mine battling a strain of the Coronavirus but you still feel compelled to write this SHIT.

I'm not really sure what you want me to admit. You do realise we need to see how things evolve right? You get that's how this pandemic works? Talk to me in a few months. I'll say this mate... I hope you're right. I don't believe anyone on here wants to see people dying. Sometimes I get the sense from you.. and your fearless leader that that's just a side issue...

And there's actually a point about the masks that Fauci makes in Cali's clip that I agree with...people fiddle with masks that makes them inclined to touch their faces. When this started, I wore gloves, just regular running ones. Because it reminded me of where my hands were...what I touched, and not to touch my face, which I still think is better, if you're not in close contact with anyone. When it got recommended that we wear masks, to protect others, I started wearing one. They are incredibly uncomfortable. I run every day, and my run is short, because I can't bear it very long. It gets too claustrophobic. I can't breathe well enough. But I do it as part of the civil contract. Not because Fauci said so or Cuomo. This deciding what to do, together, has been an evolution, as you say, GSM.

Question for all.. if as Trump says that without testing ‘We Would Have Very Few Cases,’ why has he instructed the increase of testing in the White House? Why does he want to know in that specific circumstance? Is it one rule for him and one rule for everyone else? Surely even his most ardent fans have an issue with this?

and just for clarity....

GameSetAndMath, I was far too nice and brief in addressing this dumb snarky little post yesterday. So I am going to give it the full smackdown it deserves now. First of all, Fauci is 79 years old and he has been in his industry for over 40 years. This isn't the first time he is providing advice on dealing with a pandemic. He is well aware of asymptomatic spreading. Second, that there could be asymptomatic carriers of "COVID" is not some magical news that dropped out of the sky 3 weeks ago. I have repeatedly referred to the March 24th Wall Street Journal article by two Stanford scientists which argued that there were millions who had the disease but did not realize it. So this was not some new revelation 2 or 3 weeks ago that forced everyone to change course.

Then, let's take a look at the transcript of the brief clip that I posted.....how does anything in what Fauci said on March 8th change based on the reality of asymptomatic carriers (particularly the part that I underlined)?

Fauci: "In the United States, people should not walking around with masks."

Q: "You're sure of this? Because people are listening right now."

Fauci: "Right now people should not be walking around, there's no reason to be walking around with [masks], there's no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you're in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet. But it's not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And often there are unintended consequences: people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face."

Q: "And can you get some kind of schmutz in there?"

Fauci: "Of course, of course. But when you think masks you should think of healthcare providers needing them and people who are ill."

Asymptomatic carrying is not why the idiots at the U.S. government changed their position on face masks. It is simply a fashion statement and a form of religious symbolism. The face mask wearing is akin to Catholics on Ash Wednesday walking around for the entire day with ashes on their forehead. This is a way of showing one's virtue to the outside world and one's commitment to the Democratic Party church/lockdown cult.

Another indicator of how much of a fraudulent joke the COVID death totals are.....here is something straight from the mouth of the other most important "scientist" in the world right now, besides Fauci, i.e. the man who scared the shit out of the whole planet with the Imperial College model in the United Kingdom.....

This whole COVID crisis is now, conspicuously and unambiguously, a massive hoax job on par with accusations of Trump-Russia collusion, although in this case the social and economic effects are far worse. This story is yet another indication of how much of a joke it is.....a serious pandemic would not be taking out only people on their last legs with a multitude of other health issues. That would be like an ATP player only beating opponents outside the top 1,000 in the rankings.

Two thirds of coronavirus victims may have died this year anyway, government adviser says

Professor Neil Ferguson said experts were now expecting around 20,000 deaths, although said it may turn out to be a lot less

25 March 2020

Up to two thirds of people who die from coronavirus in the next nine months are likely to have died this year from other causes, a government advisor has said.

Professor Neil Ferguson, who is recovering at home from Covid-19, told the Science and Technology Committee that experts were now expecting around 20,000 deaths, although said it may turn out to be a lot less.

But he said that many of those deaths were likely to be old and seriously ill people who would have died from other conditions before the end of the year.

And yet more evidence of a how much of a joke the COVID death totals are.....murat is completely right. There are stories like this popping up everywhere. How can anyone take these death totals seriously?

LMFAO:

Man With Staggering .55 Blood-Alcohol Content Dies; Officials Call It A COVID-19 Death
May 14, 2020

A big-time drinker in Montezuma County, Colorado, recently got so drunk they died.

The person’s blood-alcohol content (BAC) was 0.55 — not 0.05, but .55, which is nearly seven times the legal driving limit of 0.08 in Colorado.

A BAC of 0.3 is considered lethal.

So, open and shut case, right? Wrong.

The state claims the person died of coronavirus, not alcohol poisoning.

The Forbes one was really snarky and funny, which is well-deserved.

Interesting development here regarding the Democratic governor of Colorado Jared Polis.....

Democratic Governor Blasts CDC For Inflating Coronavirus Death Count
By Eric A. Blair
Published May 18, 2020

It is not at all unreasonable to try to distinguish patients that died "with" COVID-19, as opposed to those that died "of" the disease. I don't think he actually "blasted" anyone, but said this: “The CDC criteria include anybody who has died with COVID-19, but what the people of Colorado and the people of the country want to know is how many people died of COVID-19....One of the reasons we wanted to make sure we reported it out in a better way was to inspire confidence so that it wouldn’t be politicized,” Polis said. “These are deaths that should not be politicized.”

This is something that @britbox and I have been saying from early doors: that it's going to be hard to get a good account if different countries (and states, by extention,) account for them differently. But it's also a work-in-progress. Which has been made more difficult by the politicizing of it, and, as President, we have to start with Trump on this. Also, because of the willful lack of testing. Trump actually said that if we didn't test so much, our numbers would be better. It will take time to assess real numbers, but if we keep making sick and dead people political pawns, we serve not them, or ourselves.

Am I the only one who finds Trumps insistence on promoting hydroxychloroquine a bit suspicious? You can sort of give him a pass at first - grading on a curve of course - but to now go back to it? I have to ask...despite push back from the medical research community what's he getting out of this?

The manner in which he is promoting it is beyond stupid and totally reckless. It wouldn't surprise me if somebody in the Trump inner circle had their beak in the trough.

Could be, but personally I think it's more ego-investment. He just doesn't want to have been wrong about it.
