Just listened to a part of the Dem debate part deux. I have to say the Dems need to get their act together on immigration because if they don't they're going to lose. I'm not sure I would vote for them myself if their position is effectively that there's no such thing as illegal immigration. Jeepers! Have they learned nothing over the last few years? What's the point of having borders than??

They're all pushing far to the left/soft/open/kumbaya side of things until one wins the nomination, then whoever that is (probably Bernie or Warren) will turn a step or two to the center. That's how it always works.

very true. I'm just concerned that Trump will be able to make it stick with enough voters

Personally I'm a bit down on conspiracy theories but this one's a doozy on what the Epstein thing could be...

Trump might not be academically smart, but daaaaaaamn… the man is street cunning. This new racism controversy against the Dem Congresswomen is a case in point. You always have to ask yourself why would Trump go there? It's easy when you think about it... ask yourself the question.. "what was on the news ticker" before this controversy? Jeffrey Epstein folks! Notice how no one is talking about him anymore? Trump has successfully manipulated the media. That's genius folks....

Ready for the next, darker, question? Why was Trump so desperate, so willing to go somewhere potentially electorally damaging for him, to take child abuser Jeffrey Epstein off the news? I shudder to think folks. I truly shudder to think...

PS, it's been 4 yrs now. The media are truly retarded to lose the narrative thread so easily. Shame on them...

paedo jeff allegedly has a pile of pics/films of bad stuff with people, one of his homes was raided recently,

maybe he sold some to putin as kompromat over donald..folk wonder just how is it that jeff is so rich ?.

and just why, in paedo jeff's contact book were there about 8 different phone numbers for contacting donald ?.

acosta managed to get paedo jeffs last prison term for child porn (or whatever it was) downgraded so much it was a joke. anone else wouldve been jailed for 10plus years, so it is claimed..

acosta just resigned from trumps admin..did jeff have stuff on acosta too ?, why did he bend over backwards to get jeff a light sentence ?.

also william barr's dad hired paedo jeff to work at the school he was headmaster of in olden days..even though jeff didnt have any qualifications for whatever he was meant to be teaching..

all these dots are floating around and maybe waiting to be uncovered /joined.

notice how quickly barr recused himself from paedo jeffs case but after a "chat" with donald he is back on it again trying to squash evidence..

so donald is creating a diversion is he?..all this stuff is threatening to boil over in an unstoppable manner.

yup. And did you notice how Trump went out of his way to say that it was Acosta's decision to resign and he hadn't wanted it. Very fishy indeed!

Anyway Trump has played a corker and no one's talking about it anymore

I disagree that no one is talking about Epstein anymore. But that could be because I live in NYC, where the hearing is being held, though I don't disagree with the possible need for distraction. DT always comes up with something when dirt starts to fly his way. He said this re: "Paedo Jeff" (genius coinage @JesuslookslikeBorg) in 2002, which was a year that a story broke on Epstein, that actually started getting into his pedophilia, even though it was meant to get into his mysterious source of wealth:

“I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,” Trump told New York Magazine that year for a story headlined “Jeffrey Epstein: International Moneyman of Mystery.” “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Now, Epstein is in jail, charged with sex trafficking by federal prosecutors who allege he abused dozens of female minors in New York and Palm Beach, Fla. He is no longer a friend anyone would want to claim.

And now, Trump doesn’t. Alan Garten, an attorney for the Trump Organization, has said Trump had “no relationship” with Epstein. (From Washington Post)

Also interesting (or weird) point that JLLB made above is the Bill Barr connection to Epstein and the Dalton School, (super high level prep school in NYC, which he was unqualified for, which got him into Bear Stearns. (It has been noted that that was through connections via his students at Dalton, so, for what it's worth, he's been "exploiting" children for a long time.

I agree with JLLB above that their are a lot of strange dots to connect out there.

All that said, I still think it IS disturbing what Trump is putting out there, and the House has just voted to condemn Trump's racist tweets against his members. While basically toothless, it had to be done. And when he walked the "go home" crap back, he changed it to, "if you don't love this country, you can leave." And, astonishingly, "Are they Communists? Probably so." This is such old throw-back to the Vietnam era: America, Love it or Leave it, and even more ancient: McCarthyism. But the worst is that, in his autocratic mind, disagreeing with Trump is "hating America."

he's setting up the lines of the 2020 debate. It's fascinating, he's going all out on race. He basically seems to be saying that enough white Americans will vote for his racist beliefs to carry him over the line. In a way I admire the clarity of his thinking, he absolutely, doesn't believe that he has a chance if he moderates his language towards inclusiveness. To me, it implies that he is fully aware that he is not competent and his administration is amateurish at best. He has to go the route of polemic, it's his only chance and he knows it. I have a feeling it might be a close run thing, it's fascinating to see that African Americans continue to see Biden as the safest bet to defeat this. I can understand why!

I find the charts below fascinating. The fundamentals underlying stocks and the US economy look dire at the moment. I know the Fed is likely to start easing soon, but when you consider that easing cycles have preceded the last 3 recessions (they haven’t prevented them) we could be on the precipice right now. And Trump is going full blown racist, will white America really vote this guy in again? This is a serious question. Will folks be won over by such overt prejudice?

Since you posted this, he has doubled-down on racist statements. Women in congress who disagree with him should "go home." Elijah Cummings of MD disagrees with him, and Baltimore is a vermin-infested place where no one would want to live. He means no "white people." He uses the word "infested" or "infestation" when he refers to black and brown people a lot. What do you do with an infestation? Exterminate. It's all he's got. And Pelosi gets in trouble in Congress for calling him a racist. They really need to change that proscription in Congress. If he's a racist, and he is, that should be sanctionable by Congress. It's not a "personal attack."
