There is an incredible opportunity for any of the women, but so far no one seems to want to step up to the plate consistently to grab these slams. What is happening with the women now this weird vacuum will happen to the men in a year or two with Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic really feeling the effects of age. I’m sure the men won’t know what to do with slams seeming a possibility.

I'm afraid you're right. Too bad she didn't meet Serena tonight. Undoubtedly, she would have lifted her game
She was exposed today and Cornet was kinda rubbing it in.

Was there any doubt? I had such high hopes for the ladies with Osaka and Barty leading the charge thru this decade! Supporting them was to be Andreescu, Sabalenka, Plíšková, Sakkari, & Halep and it just isn't happening! The rankings are all over the place with multiple major winners due to injury and inconsistency play! We have a chance with Swiatek, but she needs to at least get to the SF's! :fearful-face: :angry-face::yawningface::shushing-face:
I really don't get it. I actually like that different ladies are winning all these tournaments and players like Caroline Garcia are popping up and making things exciting and challenging these other players. I'd much rather have that then what the men tour have had with Rafa, Federer, and Novak for so long. Yeah they are great players and that is all good but I love seeing the new players mix in there. Get FAA, Sinner, Fritz, Korda, Tiafoe, Berrettini, Alacaraz love and winning these big tournaments. I think that would be lots of fun to watch. Medvedev has started to do that and he is the tops in the men's game to challenge Rafa, Novak, and Federer, but in my opinion we need many more or those guys to come along. The same with the women when Serena retires and with Iga. We just don't need Iga dominating the game on the women's side. We need a bunch of ladies playing great tennis winning tournaments like Caroline Garcia is doing right now.

I agree I like seeing different winners. The issue I take with the women right now is none of them seem to be able to sustain any consistent greatness it comes in spurts. It would be one thing if we had ten different women playing great tennis over the entire year contending for titles. Instead you have Iga looking like a force for 3 months and then that stops, and someone else has a good run for a month and falls apart. Then someone else for 3 months and then nothing. None of these players can sustain any type of run for a year. The womens game really changed where in one year you had Venus, Henin, Serena, Jennifer Capriati, Kuznetsova, and others who all could put together incredibly solid years simultaneously to now where none of these women can be great together simultaneously.

Can I then ask why do you think at present that the women on the WTA are not able to sustain any consistent greatness and why does it come in spurts, like Iga was able to do?

I think it is because they are currently beating up on each other when they play each other. There is no one like Serena that can go out there pretty much everyday and beat anyone when she was in her prime. When I started watching tennis, and I really mean started to watch tennis consistently that was just a few years ago when I was 11 or 12 years old. Before that I would watch the big matches in Finals and the Slams but when I was little my attention span was not into sitting and watching tennis matches all day long. So pretty much I got Serena and Venus later on in years in their 30's ,but they were still really good. Players like Coco and Amanda , Iga, Emma, Leylah, Bianca, Tauson, and the other really young girls on the tour are the ones I have really followed. They are my generation until these Junior players come up that are really my age and start playing on the tour. I love how I can go into a match not knowing if the #100 ranked lady is going to take down the #5 player in the world on that given day.

That backs up my argument that the womens game has a lot of depth, when we see a qualifer beat a higher ranked player, these days you have to be on your game from the start of the match and cant take things for granted

And I see nothing wrong with that. I actually love that in the game. The players should be on their toes every time they step on the court and know they can be sent home packing by anyone.

I wonder which ones will come lol!
Well Kylie has two little kids and one of them isn't even a year old yet. So I doubt it will be her. It might be Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian. I think either Khloe or maybe it is Kourtney is friends with Serena so it might be one of them.

I just read that Amanda broke her toe at Cinncy last week, no wonder she had trouble in her match yesterday and could not play her best tennis

I just read that Amanda broke her toe at Cinncy last week, no wonder she had trouble in her match yesterday and could not play her best tennis
Her foot was bothering her the entire match, but she seemed to be complaining more about feeling dizzy and her blood pressure during the match. I felt so bad for her as she was crying when she left the court.
