My eyes are heavy. I can't hang w/ Naomi-me-me and the Banshee.
I know that feeling...actually Collins started slow and has made good progress, seeing she has not played for ages, also with that neck injury..serving to force a t/breaker in the 1st set

Yep and I bet one of them is tonight's.

The match tonight has been pretty good.
Collins started off slow, though she has absorbed Osaka's shots, both big hitters of the ball, though Collins found her game at the right time, though she just got broken with a couple of DFS in her game

If this match goes the distance my head is going to hit my pillow and I am going to be snoozing before it ends. It is just about midnight here.

It is afternoon here, though I am a walking Zombie at this time of the year, I have to get up at 1am my time to watch matches
Good fight back from Collins, down a break of serve, and holds her serve now.I have to take a phone call.,this call could be a long one:)

I would probably do the same thing for the Australian Open but I am in school at that time and there is no way my parents would allow me to stay up at those crazy times to watch the matches live.

I have to just surf by periodically! I can't take watching today's players pretty much relentlessly pound the cover off tennis balls! Osaka had a sitter short ball and couldn't just push the ball into the open court down the line, she had to take a huge swipe at the ball CC and allowed Collins to stab for it for a winner! Again approaching the net on a short ball, takes full swing and the ball goes deep! It's like there's no back up plan for most which limits themselves! By the time they get it together, it's too late and Osaka's allowed Collins to escape it appears so far! :angry-face: :shushing-face::astonished-face:

I don't know much at all about the tennis off the past which a lot of it was finesse tennis except for players like Martina and a few others back then. I grew up of course with seeing Serena and Venus smashing the ball and now Coco and Sabalenka and others. I also have seen Simona Halep as well play her game which has been great. I do think the game has evolved of course to harder hitting which I don't think is a terrible thing. The players are definitely stronger and the racquets are better technology for sure.

Was there any doubt? I had such high hopes for the ladies with Osaka and Barty leading the charge thru this decade! Supporting them was to be Andreescu, Sabalenka, Plíšková, Sakkari, & Halep and it just isn't happening! The rankings are all over the place with multiple major winners due to injury and inconsistency play! We have a chance with Swiatek, but she needs to at least get to the SF's! :fearful-face: :angry-face::yawningface::shushing-face:

Good match from Collins who defeated Osaka coming back from 2 breaks in each set 76(5) 63
Remember too Collins has had little play, she has had a bad neck problem and had trouble serving at times, though all credit to her for her win today

Yes! Very happy the cry baby brat Osaka lost in the 1st Round! It's there she belongs.

Osaka is also not good looking which is my nice way of saying this.

Great win by Collins who lost past 3 matches against Osaka.

Hi Andy a very good win from Collins seeing she has been off the tour with a bad neck injury of late.
