Sakkari just got Wanged. :lulz1:
Sakkari's woeful year continues, she will lose her SF points from last year at the USO. she needs to visit a sports shrink for starters, I have never been a fan of her game

I guess it's ok to talk about inconsistent play if others join in! That's all I was saying! You have nice runs like Iga, then her play falls off a cliff! In the old days the top players were so much better, it wasn't uncommon for them to relax and let the match come to them! Upsets were rare and at the biggest tourn. like Wimbledon, all 8 seeds at the top made it to the quarterfinals! They weren't concerned about upsets! Now, on day one, it's damned likely if a player comes out unprepared, hurt, or allowing their minds to wander! It happened just now; Sakkari is out! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face::astonished-face:
The thing is you should be prepared as a top player or any player. Yeah getting injured happens in sports. Amanda was injured yesterday with a broken toe that she played through the match with and she lost. She could do nothing about that. She is a fighter and she tried to fight through it. It didn't work out for her. I wasn't the one to say anything about you bringing up inconsistent play. I don't really care what is talked about on this thread if it relates to women's tennis. My stance on the whole thing is I think it is exciting a fun to have all these players having a fighting chance in every match than just the same old player winning everything all the time.

I disagree she can look awesome one minute her game is built on a physical aspect, she has not the Brain Power that is needed in tennis

That is probably the case in why she looks awful the next minute. She has got to be one of the most physical players on the ladies tour that is for sure. It seems like the Greek players need to get some head coaches and quickly because it doesn't seem to be working up in the noggin region too well.

Exactly, people that watch the current game will agree with me, it is not about being consistent or inconsistent it is looking at a players whole game.Maria base her game on brutal strength, though you need to also have a good tennis IQ as well, that has been her major downfall, and when the tough gets going in a match, she isnt mentally prepared for it

It sure is. It seems like the Greek players meaning Stefanos and Maria have the talent but not much going on upstairs. They would really benefit from a good head coach.

Maria has a good coach in Tom Hill, Stefonas needs to cut the apron strings with his father, saying that for years, though at present I cant see that happening

Some parents as coaches have been amazing and some have been disastrous. Toni Nadal is one that has been great in my opinion while Apostolos has been awful for him.

Tony is in a league of his own, actually he is here in NYC with FAA
Stefenos needs a proper coach now, not his father.
