I like her too. When she learns how to control her aggression and tighten up those errors, she will be a monster to deal with.
She's like an athletic Serena, with decent movement.

6-3 first set to Osaka. And winning the crowd. Nice!

Especially the serve Denis. Looks just like Serena's motion. But this chick has a serious FHDTL. It's almost as big as Madison Keys.

This is great for women's tennis. With Serena approaching retirement, li na, henin, clijsters gone. The dozen or so tennis -ova's were not exactly doing it for me.

Not quite, but she's getting there. She had Keys on the ropes last year in the 3rd round. Was up 5-1 in the decider w/ MP's and lost that match.

Just checking her stats, terrible final record too. Can't see it at all in this match.

Maybe she learned from that painful choke of last year.

Kerbie one game away from dropping 2,000 points. Her ranking will plummet.

I didn't see it. Was it a choke? UE? Or just keys stepping up?
Alot of it was youth, but still a choke. You've seen her serve and her game. No way she should have dumped serve that many times serving out the match.

6-3 6-1 wow.
Wonderful job Naomi. Let's see how far she goes this year. She's in much better physical condition than last year so hopefully she can stay around for a few rounds.

I think Kerber has something going on in her personal life.I remember Serena during the AO17 saying that she is aware of what Kerber is going through and that she will be okay.
On the other hand I thought I was watching Serena today, same hairstyle and outfit, she really channeled today.Ostapenko also modeled her game after Serena and she won a slam at 19yrs.Garbage said she watched over 100 videos of Serena as a youngster...
