Two young Americans in the final of the US Open? I don't see this as an anti-climax. I'm sorry Venus is out, but it's still a win for US women's tennis. And there is no excuse for tired. The women play best of 3 at Majors, with a day in between, whereas they play the same with no day break in the rest of their tournaments. I still think they should campaign for best of 5 at late stages of Majors.

Sloane and Keys really joined the tour in June...they are the less tired thats all.I remember Justine Henin saying that by the time everybody gets to the USA Open they are exhausted...some dont even want to play the Open.
there is no win here...let them start the tour like everybody...who will watch this match.

I was working late and came home only when the third set started between Vee and ES. I was amazed by the quality of tennis. I was rooting for Vee, but was impressed by the tenacity of Sloane in winning the match. It was amazing defense by Sloane.

Hingis does not suffer fools well! Chan said all the right things after they won Hingis' 25th GS title in doubles! I still remember when she was originally on the tour and could play with anyone winning majors; even a "double fault" machine in Anna K.! Kornikova began mouthing off and Martina dumped her like a bad habit! She may play for another 10+ years at this rate trying to outdo Navratilova who finally retired after her USO MxD victory in '06 with Bryan just a month short of her 50th BD! "Congrat Martina; you're the best!"

I think Sloane and Keys are in competition to take over Serena s position.I guess when they were on injury break their agents told them that there is your opportunity to takeover endorsements...
I was looking at Keys and she favors Reggie Miller...same jacked up grill.
