Lendl was cleaning up lower level tournaments, for sure.

While it is a bit off topic, I'm not sure that the latter is true. 2006 is definitely consider one of the best, but I think 2004 is more top 10ish.

My vote for the best four seasons are, in chronological order: Laver 1969, McEnroe 1984, Federer 2006, Novak 2015. As far as Federer's 04, I might actually rank 05 and 07 ahead of it.
I would put Rafa's 2022 first half of the season (including RG) against other players first half of their season..

It’s going to be another challenging day for Novak: by the time he takes court, it will be in the mid-80s F (29.4 C), with 88% humidity.

Rafa's first halves in general are among the best.
Yes Dude 2022 winning Doha , AO, Acapulco and making it to the finals of IW ...not playing the MC, Barcy, Madrid and a little at Rome but to still recapture RG was pretty impressive;

Tsitsipas is up 2-1 in sets, though down a break in the 4th so he may squeak by his match today, but any theories why he does so badly in the USO? His record is terrible at Flushing Meadows.

ETA:
USO results
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 1st round

For some odd reason, his BH gets worse at Wimbledon and US Open.

It's true Stefano's bh is so unreliable on the fastest surface recently..his problem is shot selection too ..he had Stricker close at the net but chose not to take his FH DTL but right at the guy when he had all day to make the passing shot .he is gonna take the long way back home either way

Help me Stef serving for the match, broken and now young Stricker who hasnt gone away in this match is up 3-0 in the final set
His Bhand is the main problem for Stef and his opponents just target it with success
Mark P has a lot to work to do, also Stefs bhand slice
At least Stef didnt go out in his first rd match at the USO this year :)
Make that 4-1 to Stricker final set.,

Stefano's head needs to go Coney Island and stick his head down deep until he can see Alaska and Sarah Palen's back yard

It’s really good that they don’t have him playing all night matches. Allows him to become acclimated with the conditions. He is hitting as well as ever

He's out! Nothing unepxected really! Tsitsipas blew it when in total control! Stricker? WHO TF is that? A Qualifier took him out? :astonished-face: :fearful-face:  :face-with-head-bandage:

It's not actually that hot today. Lovely breeze.

In Cinci, every one of his matches until the final was at night. I’m just saying that it’s good the US Open doesn’t have him on the Vampire schedule.
