Well it's not.Nice try but Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Murray have all said that it’s equal to the slams.

Well yea everyone but murray, nadal does not care about Olympics, federer still might go a few more seasons, just to keep his grand slam lead we see.Nobody cares about the Olympics in tennis. He will retire when he thinks he needs to. I think today was a good indication that he might need to sooner than later.

Federer didn't choke. He played poorly. There's a difference.

If Rafa gets to 19 slams Federer will announce his retirement immediately because he has too much of an ego to be surpassed while still playing. At least if he retires with the record, people can still say “well maybe if he had played a little bit longer he could have kept the lead”...
I have no idea what are you asking me. Novak has never bailed out of any matches.
When a player doesn't look like himself in match he loses and is not stating health problem like it was the case with Federer in this match, he choked.
now ciao, I must "bail out"
I thought he choked the 2nd, and then just wilted after that, but have it however you like.He choked. Did you see the end of the 2nd set??? That's the definition of choking

Well yeah I agree with that but if he had closed out the 2nd the match was all but over. Choking that set is what lost it for him. The guy played a lot better after that but why wouldn't he?
Did you watch the match?
He was trying to shorten points hitting drop shots and coming to the net getting burned repeatedly by Millman's passing shots.just had no faith in his ground strokes.
The terrible serve percentage didn't help either.Lost two service games from 40-15 in set 2 ffs.
I saw all of it. The bottom line is he blew the second set out his backside and he would've won if he didn't just give that away. The heat/humidity seemed to become more of an issue for him later on in the match which makes sense.
You think they really believe that? How would Djoke and Fed look if they said otherwise?Nice try but Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Murray have all said that it’s equal to the slams.

Federer’s reaction when he won his Olympics semi to reach the final was bigger than any slam win, not to mention describing the moment in his press conference. And how can we forget when he made love to Wawrinka right on the court when they won the doubles? Should I also mention how Djokovic was in full tears when he lost at the Olympics while when he loses in a slam it’s not as big of a deal? The Olympics for them is beyond huge.
I think it's understandable that for an individual it means a lot, but I agree with you that no one would trade it for a Major win.It is huge but a lot of it is due to them playing for their country, and in Roger and Nole's cases, athletes from their countries rarely take home medals, at least in The Summer Olympics. Roddick and some other Americans didn't really care about it and many players that qualify flat out skip it. So it's something that is different player to player. None of them would trade a major for a Gold Medal though, they'd be idiots if they said otherwise.
