The only potential upset for today is Man beating Nole.

Nobody knows how serious is ND's shoulder issue etc and that is the reason for the possibility combined with multiple wins of Stan against Nole in big stages.

Having said that the bookies give Novak 1/5 odds leading to about 83% chance. IMO that is way too high percentage than the actual reality.

Why even care what the bookies think? These are people who regularly make Zverev look like a legitimate contender — a guy who’s only made it to the QFs of any major twice.

Nah, he meant Nadal. I was giving him grief. But it's still ignorant and disgusting. Darth started it and Bonaca uses it too. I guess because they themselves are such classy fellows by comparison?

Didn't he refer to the Italian players as a 'peasant'? that's how I read it,also I know he refers to Nadal the same as others do.

No, he even said so. But it's totally gauche in either case.

Medvedev in trouble...set and a break down to the qualifier. Maybe created more heat than he can handle, being unused to the limelight.

Nah, more likely he is tired.

He's evened the score, so he's in better shape. But I do think there's something to be said for being under the microscope at a Major for the first time in your career, especially when you've faced the kind of blow-back that he got for his antics of 2 nights ago. Sure, he might be tired, but he's facing the big circus, and has not acquitted himself perfectly. I think that has to hurt the focus.

I would be shocked if he would fail to pull it off

Well, he pulled it off. And has made himself a pariah at the USO in the bargain. Remember when Novak became a pariah here? Things change. The men's side has been pretty crabby thus far.

For the record let me note the upset caused by Grigor. D-Minor caused upsets in the last two matches, but when faced with a player against whom he is expected to win, he could not deliver and found himself on the other side of upset story.

WOWrinka was in God Mode tonight and he beat a Djokovic who was painting the lines and playing some great tennis... :good:

Not really an upset though, cause everyone knows that if Wawrinka is at his best Novak wouldn't stand a chance... :bye:

I'm pretty sure I foretold Nole was going down; regardless of Stan! He was destined to go out one way or another! I missed it; went out!

don't know if we can consider Stan who beat injured Nole (ret) as an upset but...it's quite great for the Man even if it's sad for Nole

I was so sure about the result, I went out! Didn't hear about the retirement until well after the fact! A title defense wasn't in the cards!

Well someone needs to tell me how "this peasant" made the QF; not only winning it, but beating Rublev in straights! "Wah Hap'n?" o_O
Nothing happened. The higher ranked and more complete player won.

Sorry! I just can't remember ever seeing the kid play! I check out his Wiki page so I know something about him, but that's about it! Rublev was killing it and I'm shocked he went out so meekly regardless of the ranking! Cilic's ranking has sunk over the last year, but he's giving Nadal all he wants and more! They're tied with a set apiece and on serve in the 3rd so far! :yesyes: :p  :ptennis:

Your loss if you have not watched Berrettini before. He is a complete player while Rublev is one trick pony, killing it or not.
Berrettini has 3 titles, Rublev 1.
Watch and lean!
