Well, Caesar did conquer Gaul (basically France for the non-history oriented), but he got killed in the end...

P.S That quote sucks in English.
For the record, in English we generally quote it in Latin: "Et tu, Brute?"

Of course Caesar got killed in the end, but if Brutus (KK) is dead, then the Emperor lives. To me, that makes Rafa the Emperor.

Karen betrayed himself.
Then he is not Brutus, but Cato, who committed suicide rather live in a world run by Caesar. Kind of a chicken-shit out. Karen didn't so much betray himself as lose a match he should have won. Just another promising youngster who can't make the grade.

You went the other way Moxie. This whole Brutus and Ceasar thing was between me and K. Seeing all the seeds falling today to whom I've trusted with my life and then when K fell I just felt like saying this betrayal phrase, cause I felt betrayed, which after all makes me the Emperor, not Rafa (tough I would like to have his kick ass yacht).

Understood. So you are the Emperor. Now I get it. So YOU are the one betrayed. Seems a bit of a stretch to go from the regal Don Fabio to a complete emperor, but I'll take that ride with you, because I like you. :D

I wanted to keep it low profile, but eventually got exposed :lol6:

I hate to say I told you so; who am I kidding, of course I told you so! When these kids have a little success, start making semi's, finals, & actually winning an event, they pay for it eventually when it counts! No one else has sang Thiem's praises more, giving him every benefit of the doubt, but this loss; :nono:! He actually let Sascha outlast him which is the last thing I would have thought! The candidate for a loss was written all over FAA; same route of good tennis, breaking down a little, missing a major, then coming back for an upset early in the next major! I expected Tiafoe to have the same issue, but he survived and has a good chance to go further! Nadal's path has been cleared; call it "Black Tues" except these losers have always been marginal if you check the record closely! Tsitsipas was another I knew would go early, but not this early! The senior of the crowd had pumped up his resume by defeating Djokovic twice on HC and now RBA's headed back home! Unbelievable! It's like it has to happen sometime, but it all seemed to happen in the bottom half!

Jeepers. Cue the complaining when Rafa wins this tournament.
4 out of 5 top 10 seeds excluding Rafa lost in his half in the first round. The winner was Zverev in five. Nadal has basically already made the final. It is ridiculous. However it doesn’t matter because none of them could have won anyway. But FOUR top ten seeds lost in one HALF in the FIRST round. Unbelievable. At least Medvedev won easily.

Medvedev didn't win easily...did you watch that match? It was pretty entertaining. Anyway, other than that, I'm not clear as to your point about seeds falling off, since it's all going to come down to the SFs and Fs, anyway, right? Who are we kidding.

I didn’t watch it but it was 6-4,6-1,6-2. How hard could it have been? I know he stopped for a trainer but on the court it seems he did well. I know Nadal would have made the finals anyway as I mentioned. I’m just saying I have never seen a draw get easier for everyone in a half after just one round. Four top 10 seeds losing is unprecedented for one day. It’s sad the 90’s can’t do better. Monfils is the highest seed in his quarter.

Not always though. Instead of "Even you, Brutus." a lot of you quote it as "You too, Brutus.".

Cato is the Green Hornet driver, Bruce Lee, who got shot during a film. Jaysus...

Both are terrible. Latin kicks ass, because it is the language of Bruce Lee.

Latin kicks ass because it's the language most scientific names for animals are in & it sounds elegant. Equus caballus sounds nicer than horse, meles meles sounds nicer than badger & Vulpes Vulpes sounds nicer than red fox, for example. It's not always the case though because magpie sounds better than pica pica & grey partridge sounds better than perdix perdix.

Final body count from yesterday's massacre: 6 (Thiem, Tsitsipas, Khachanov, RBA, FAA, Edmund).

This does not include upsets involving non-seeded players.
