The "King is dead" comment he's referring to happened after the 2008 AO loss and was made by Novak's mom, not his dad. Still, moral of the story, he's got an obnoxious family.

You're kidding? Like we don't hear from the camps of Nadal and Federer! Uncle Tony has embarrassed himself and Rafa by mouthing off, making excuses, and giving general commentary that no one wants to hear! Even Mirka got into it trying to help out Roger when playing someone like Stan! It got ugly in the middle of a YEC SF match a few years ago! I could go on with the selective memory of people! …..

You know, the great thing about Rafa is that unlike Federer & Djokovic he has kept the same team throughout the years, the same thing for his sponsors. Sure there has been some additions to the team like Moya but it's not as if he ditched Uncle Toni, he's still part of the team but just can't travel as much anymore due to his age (and he is taking care of his academy).

Meanwhile Djokovic and Federer whenever things go wrong can ditch their coaches, no sense of loyalty. And don't get me started on how Federer ungratefully ditched Nike for Uniqo simply because of extra money, and since then he has been cursed to not win another slam. I can never imagine Nadal ditching Babolat because they've been there for him since the start and he is loyal to them.

All 3 are great players but Nadal will be rewarded with the biggest record in tennis because he's the better and most grounded person.

I wil start with agreement: Yes they are all great players.

Its not about loyalty, its about success.
When it works for you with the same team, its fine. But to conclude from that, he is a better person?
Nadal is a repeating freak, he dont like changes, look at his behavior? But that also not mean he is worse as a person.
Federer and Novak founded families beside their success, that makes them better people?

My point is , what the fuck is a better person? We dont know any of the 3 in person.

The point is, Rafa has said many times that if things are going wrong it doesn't mean that you ditch your team you also have to look at yourself instead of blaming others. Roger & Novak blame others when things go wrong. Nadal doesn't.

It's not about blaming others with Novak and Roger ffs, it's called looking for some new inspiration and a new angle to their game. Can't believe this had to be explained. Moya's made great changes to your beloved's game too if you even noticed.

I get it perfectly fine. Your Mallorcan twat is the biggest complainer of the big 3 and it's not even close. Must be lonely in dreamland. Like I said, they hire new coaches for a new angle to their games and that, genius, is why Nadal hired Moya also. Duh.

Last I checked Nadal's parents never said shit, neither did Roger's. Toni spoke as Nadal's coach. Big difference.

So compare apples to apples. Nadal's mother has never ever said anything controversial. Hell, she's never said anything, period.

To call a whole family obnoxious, because of a statement of one person in emotional overreaction, that is obnoxious.

No, I call the whole family obnoxious because his father once literally barged into the commentary booth and berated a Serbian commentator for not being biased enough. I call the whole family obnoxious because they once shafted a more deserving player to give Novak's brother a wild card at the Serbian open and he proceeded to get embarrassed. I call his whole family obnoxious because they wore fucking mini-me shirts. Give me a break.

Here's Roger asking Novak's parents to shut up:

It was very obvious to anyone that Novak's family took some time to actually acclimate themselves with the proper etiquette in the tennis world. There's a reason they became less and less visible/animated over the years.

You're obviously having interpretive problems since I never referenced Nadal's mother! Don't do that! I'm excoriated enough for my real comments! Don't make up $#!t trying to involve me in something I didn't mean or say! :nono:  :banghead: Seek :help:

Jesus, I have to spoon feed you the argument. My point is that comparing what Novak's mother said to anything Uncle Toni said is silly, because Toni speaks as Nadal's coach. Meanwhile, Novak's mother really shouldn't be commenting on players. Get it?

The kind that tells you to eat shit when you get so sensitive over someone simply stating facts? You asked me why I'm lumping Novak's whole family because of something his mother said, and I'm giving you examples of obnoxious behavior by the whole family.

You call it stating facts? Coud you imagine how weird that sounds?
I mean one can be tennis fan, know nearly everything about significant matches of his fav player and maybe also about his greatest rival, but to came up with such “facts” ? Really?
What gives you all this shit?

dulls clay competition is a joke..After 2004, Coria, Kuerten all disappeared
While this is not exactly true, that they disappeared after 2004, I know what you're saying, but a deeper dive is necessary, and you might have mentioned Gaudio, as well. Guga is 10 years older than Rafa (as is Moyà, who also has a RG title,) so, even without the hip issues, he might only have troubled Nadal in, say, '05. Gaudio (8 years older) was the defending champ when Rafa won in '05, and had beaten him 3 times prior, but began his slide into oblivion after his RG win. Coria is only 4 years older than Rafa, but had only defeated him once, when Rafa was 16. Nadal won their 4 subsequent meetings. By '05, Rafa's main competition on clay became Roger. No matter what you want to say about his clay game, it wasn't bad, and I'd put him up against those other guys, post '05, as well. And when it wasn't Roger 2nd best on clay, it was Novak, so you can't really say his clay competition has been a "joke."
