Anyone watch the British show Sherlock? I really enjoyed it, the only problem is the episodes are pretty much movies (over 1.5 hours) and there are just 3 each season. It is through 3 seasons and the 4th will come in 2016.

I loved it, then went off it in the third series. Too far-fetched and clever, the "deductions" and "mysteries" became so literally stupid and showy it began to grate with me. Great cast, though, but it went too Doctor Who for me...

I finished watching that last week, A-P, wrote about it above. I agree with you, though the character of Alice was a bit forced and unnatural, and so was her appearance in the finale. But still, dark and superior...

I still have to see the last episode of season 3 but I agree that the first 2 seasons were better (barring an amazing final episode of season 3).

For me, the first two series were very good, but they started to believe the hype, I think, and fell in love with their own cleverness in the third - while not being too clever at all. The solutions to the crimes were really dire. I don't want to spoil it for anybody but you'll know what I mean when I say, "an off button?" Really?

And a guy takes a shower and washes his hair - and doesn't know he's been...? Etc.

The third ep features a great actor, Danish bloke, his brother played the Bond villain with the weeping eye in Casino Royale....

Yeah I totally agree about the first 2 episodes of the third season. I also just thought it was all over the place and not easy to follow at times.

Their relationship was a bit contrived and her return was odd. My missus said during the last episode, it's getting like a Batman film. It wasn't a criticism as such, more an observation on how unnatural it was getting. I love that girl as an actress, though, and again, need I say it - Siena Guillery...

Just saw the 3rd episode this weekend and though it was very good, definitely the best of the 3rd season. Overall the first 2 were still better though.

They got away with not explaining how Sherlock survived the fall at the end of series two, and I gave them credit for how they did this, but are they going to try pull a fast one for the next series?

Got through Luther already. Solid show, one of those shows you're not sorry you watched but it doesn't blow you away either. And these British shows are weird! What's with the 4 episode seasons? I can kind of understand it for Sherlock since they are very long episodes but not for Luther.

How's Homeland going, without Brody? I haven't watched this new series yet, kinda went off it when it jumped the shark, the whale, a whole school of fishes and a tuna salad sandwich.

Has it improved?

At first, I was concerned when they killed off Brody, but now I think it was a great move. It's almost an entirely different show. In fact, someone who has never seen the first three seasons could begin with this one, and not feel lost.

Except for a few brief scenes, they've moved the show to Pakistan, where Carrie is now the CIA station chief. The first episode was about a controversial drone strike, and the following episodes have involved various plot lines generated from that event.

Why would they send somebody as obviously troubled and unhinged as Carrie to be the CIA station chief in Pakistan, of all places?

Hey Mr K.. Here is a sample.. little spoiler alert...

Carrie is now the station chief in Kabul. She gets a call that there is actionable intelligence that a highly sought after terrorist named Haissam Haqqani is at a location. The only option is an airstrike. She speaks with Sandy (Corey Stoll), the Islamabad station chief. He tells her the info is from a source that has been reliable on several other occasions but won't tell her anything about the identity of the source. Carrie is given the authority to engage. After assessing all of the factors she gives the go-ahead, primarily because Haqqani is dangerous and the source has been right before. Two bombs are dropped on the building.

Doesnt that get you salivating.. :clap
