I'm pretty pumped too AP. Given that it is only 12 episodes and is likely a brief 1 or 2 season comeback I'd imagine it will be crazy amounts of action and Jack's kill count might reach astronomic levels.

Dude.. u know Jack is gonna kill someone during the first 30 minutes.. now that Jack is back.. we in the world can breathe a little easier. who needs Nadal!.. yeah right:blush:

The Air Force One goes down (again), the White House is destroyed, Lincoln Memorial wiped out, and a nuke goes off in a Pennsylvanian town no one has ever heard of. Called it!

"This is not a spoiler alert but I Jack Bauer kill wish"

I can't wait until Jack finally kills the annoying "blonde" (Kate) on the CTU team. I wished he would have done this 5 years ago.. I never like her character because she is a dumb as the day is long.

Watched a truly dire show on telly the other night, Intelligence, starting Josh Holloway, who played Sawyer in Lost, and Marg Helgenberg, Catherine from CSI, who might call in the old team to investigate why she left that popular show to take part in this crap.

Watched the first ep of Pillars of the Earth tonight on Netflix. Enjoyed this one, has a great cast, including Rufus Sewell, Donald Sutherland, Ian McShane, Matthew Macfadyen and Hayley Atwell. This was more like it, a bit of medieval blood and muscle, mud and pestilence...

I dunno if anybody else has watched this show, Pillars of the Earth, but it has me screaming at the telly, because of the injustice, and the beautiful babes (Hayley Atwell  ), and the way they fought wars back then. Excellent stuff, I have only three episodes left to watch...

Started watching Fargo. The pilot was very impressive, in the stylistic and thematic vein of the Coen Brothers' masterpiece but still went into its own direction. Freeman was surprisingly convincing as the vunlerable chap and it's great to see BBT return to some solid content after years of mediocrity. Episode 2 was also good, but a tad underwhelming - I guess that's normal as the show is now building up its own story arcs and whatnot.

Will watch E3 sometime this week. Good stuff, overall!

Has anyone seen The Black Box? I find the concept of that show very interesting.

What's everyone think of the new 24 season? Just 2 episodes left and it has really picked up. I think it has been surprisingly very good. I don't know if they have decided to do another one after this which makes it unpredictable as to how this season will end.

I think 24 has been fantastic.. If you notice, less stories lines and sub plots.. Jack is back as his psychopathic self.. I hear that the ratings have been pretty solid and have increased since the first few episodes.. The last two episodes have been brilliant. I have a feeling the big wigs at FOX will bring Jack back so he can continue his KILL Count.. :clap

I was just coming here to post about that. I can only hope it is deliciously bad as the first one. Here's the trailer:

"Even the Sharknados are tougher in New York."

I can't wait.

I heard that Sharknado jumped the shark in the first movie. :lolz: :laydownlaughing

Been watching Tim Roth in "Lie to Me". It's bright and breezy, kinda "House" for mannerisms and facial tics, pretty cast, straightforward twists and turns, lasts as long as it takes to eat dinner....

So, every year I watch Extras and The Office (UK) back-to-back. I've done this three consecutive years now, and they're still as brilliant, honest, hilarious, and tragic as ever. Both shows only consist of 12 episodes and a special so they're relatively easy to get through (well, in comparison to most other TV).

Both works are simply brilliant television, in my opinion, and continually improve with viewings. Extras is perhaps one of the most candid and human examinations I've ever seen of the entertainment industry. The ideas of succumbing to things like studio expectations and discarding your artistic and creative aspirations to become 'accepted' don't really seem to get explored to any real considerable degree in film or television. It's something I imagine countless people in the industry have experienced, and both Gervais and Merchant tackle it really well. It also really works well as a bit of a critique of 'celebrity culture' and the ramifications fame has on oneself. The speech in the Big Brother house was absolutely incredible, and still gets me every single time. It's also amazing how well-structured, paced, and told the entire 'rise-to-fame' story is, and it also manages to give such care and devote such 'depth' to its characters. The storytelling is so impressive, and it is also one of the most hilarious TV shows I've ever seen, of course.

The Office is sublime for pretty much all the same reasons. Very rarely do I come across any work that feels so real. I'm sure everybody could relate to David, Tim and even Dawn on some level. It's something you know an established writer/director who never experienced the repetitious and often monotonous working-class life could make. I don't want to sound pompous here, but it just feels authentic, and not riddled with any of the corniness or mawkishness you too often see plagued in other TV. None of it is implausible or even hyperbolic. It aims for reality and it gets it, unlike the US version, which I still love, but not to the same extent. I could connect to a lot of what the show was saying. And yeah, it's also just really funny, too, and no other show can make you cringe and feel just... awkward like this one. Painful, but brilliant.

Anyway, awesome shows I'd highly recommend to anyone who has yet to see them. I initially used to prefer The Office, marginally, but now it's Extras. Countless memorable moments - the gay stageplay, Andy's discussions with Darren, the cameos from the celebrities... so many. Oh, and sorry if my post doesn't sound too coherent - it's past midnight and I'm a bit tired.

I just bulk-watched the last series of Luther.

Excellent cast, of course, and brutally dark stories. Slightly contrived, especially the character and reappearance of Alice, and trying a little to hard to tug the heart and scare the wotsits, but a quality series, and I hope we get one more.

Sienna Guilory, eh?
