Haven't looked into it, but any thoughts on ranking for Nadal? He's still #10 right now, but so many players behind him are still in Wimbledon and are in sniffing distance of taking him down even further! Anybody? :puzzled :nono  :dodgy:

Don't worry about Nadal. From now until December 31st, he's got feck all to defend. He rises soon enough, we'll remind you when he does... ;)

Despite his loss today, Rafa will probably retain his #10 ranking as the person behind him is trailing by more than 500 points. Even if he drops, he literally cannot drop below 12 which is the most important thing as far as draw advantage for MS or GS is concerned.

Rafa has a total of just 190 points to defend for the rest of the year and so his ranking situation can only improve for the rest of this year.

Rafa had earlier indicated that he may play in clay tourneys after Wimbledon. Now that he lost early, I am sure he will play at least in Hamburg 500 and probably win it too.

bloody atp site is still shite..just went on to check if new rank charts are out (not yet)..I too sent those clowns some "feedback on the new site design"..its crap and cumbersome, looks like its staying that way. shame as it used to be so amazing before it was ruined with the so-called site upgrade.

They have the stupid habit of updating the rankings only on Mondays, even if they have all the info they need to update it. :cover

You guys are spoiled. I remember when I was a kid the newspaper my dad got put the rankings out on Wednesday. And only the Top Ten. And sometimes the rankings got shoved off for some other sport tidbit. Did you check the Live Rankings site? Pretty accurate and updated a few minutes after each match.

People don't realize how lucky they have it now in the "information age" with computers and 24 hour news! I go back to the 70's when pro tennis was just getting off the ground and it wasn't a priority; save the MAJORS! I had several subscriptions to tennis magazines to keep up with the news, but sometimes it took until the record book of "Tennis Magazine" coming out in Feb. to finally find the simplest of result like if Martina won all 3 events of the inaugural Lipton Int'l in 1985! She did BTW! :dodgy:

All the info is coming through usually late on Sunday, as there are challengers played all over. And I guess, they think nobody will be checking Sunday evening anyhow, so why not do that early Monday morning.
By the way, ever since they screwed up the English version of the site, I am checking the Spanish version for stats, so thanks to the poster who mentioned that the Spanish version stayed the same (and hopefully that will not change).

It's all gain for Rafa from here on in, but where did they get "21 tournaments played" from?

Yeah, that's another problem with the ATP's new site: they count all GSs and 1000s, regardless of whether or not the player was actually there.

Here's Nadal's rankings breakdown. As you can see, they include the USO, Paris/Bercy, Cincinnati, and the Rogers Cup -- even though he didn't play any of them last year.

New carer high July 13, 2015:

14. David Goffin 24y
28. Dominic Thiem 21y
32. Pablo Andujar 29y
37. Borna Coric 18y
43. Victor Estrella Burgos 34y
70. Aljaz Bedene 25y
89. James Ward 28y
98. John Millman 26y

2 new faces in the top 100 this week, Ward and Millman, none of them in their early stages of their career, as we can see, age wise. The same week, when finally Ward gets into the top 100, Bedene wins a challenger and leaps to a new high, therefore he keeps his second spot among the british players.
