New career high ranking this week:

42. J Sousa 24y old
47. R. Bautista-Agut 25y
63. Bradley Klahn 23y
66. K. De Schepper 26y
73. J. Vesely 20y
78.A. Nedovyesov 27y
86. D. Thiem 20y

Bautista Agut moved in the top 50 due mainly of his strong showing upsetting Berdych. Encouraging for the next generation that the 2 youngest and lone 20 y from the top 100 are moving up concurrently and at a large event, showing guts when meeting seasoned players.

After every big event where top 10 are involved we can expect a lot of changes due to how tightly are bunched together in the 4-8 positions.
This week was no different, Roger gained 3 spots, jumping from 8 to 5, both DelPo and Berdych lost ground to him.
This week expect the same, Murray and Ferrer, the finalists last year could slip rather easily, especially considering the circumstances.

Another interesting and rare these days change was at the bottom of the top 10.
Tsonga, a steady member of the club 10 made the exit for the first time since Sept. 2011, replaced
by Isner, who was once in the top 10 in 2012.
Isner could gain more ground after Miami, because Gasquet, just ahead of him is defending a SF run in Miami, which is a challenge to repeat.
I predicted Tsonga's exit a long time ago, in December, when we had the top 10 prediction thread by the end of 2014. My problem with his game is that it shows no improvement, not that I am expecting anything technically at his age, but at least mentally there is still room to grow, as we saw from Stan.
In Jo's case, he still looks green mentally as he always has been.

I wasn't around to congratulate Wawrinka's amazing triumph, but I do say now, it couldn't of happened to a better guy! Stan the Man!!

So if Roger wins Miami.. he gets to #3 ?

That would be correct. But, there is a big IF there. He might have to beat
both #2 and #1 to become #3.

Also Tsonga gets one spot lower to 12. Milos Raonic jumps ovwer both of them to 10, his best ranking to date, where he was one week last summer after the Canadian Open.

Murray will probs drop in the rankings now a bit. 820 points.... His seeding at Wimbledon will not be affected though and that matters more I think.

Murray is at position 8. He is probably a shoe in for a top-4 seeding in Wimbledon due
to their formula. Also, RN and ND will be in top 4 (if not in top 2).

Anyway, all of this leaves room for only one Swiss Player to be in top 4. Who do
you think it is going to be?

To the ranking points, it adds all grass points won in the last 12 months and 75% of
the points won in ONE (best) grass event in the year before.

p.s. My question is rhetorical.

He will have to be more sharp when he meets Rafa or Nole or Roger for starters. A good chance tomorrow for him to kick Rafa's rear end (it is always itchy anyways so he might do him a favor)

It is now official. With the walkover given by Bird, Roger Federer makes it into Top
Four for the first time since June 2013. Also, he has a considerable lead of 505 points
over the current no. 5. Hence, there is good reason to expect that he will continue
to remain in top four till the beginning of FO (and actually till the end of calendar
year).

Keep it up Roger. :clap

Youngderer won't play MC (except WC) Birdie will so I guess we have to wait before RG to see who is N°5 or 4, Youngderer has a lot of points to defend in Roma, don't remember what Birdie did in Italia last year and how many points he has to defend

Obviously Juan is going to sink in the ranking due to his surgery. Murray seems to be going no where lately. Federer has gained, but I think it is mainly due to the "bad year" for him of last year. He is playing better than last year, of course, but watching that Match between him and Kei Federer looked an awful lot like the Federer of 2013. Many of his shots went into two places-into the net or out of the court! David is dropping also. Some other players not in the Top Ten I expect to fall further down are JWS. He just hasn't looked good at all this year. And Tommy Haas who is yet again having right shoulder problems. I think the ranking have been due for some big shake up and this could be the time!

^ Del Potro can avail of protected ranking due the length of his recovery time.
