It's hard not to think that RG is a land of opportunity, (not for winning, but advancing,) and I agree...Zverev is out of excuses for not getting to the 2nd week.

New career high May 28, 2018:

25. Denis Shapovalov 19y
39. Stephanos Tsitsipas 19y
43. Peter Gojowczyk. 28y
45. Marton Fucsovics 26y
85. Cameron Norrie. 22y

A new entrant in the top 100, Norrie from Great Britain. Interestingly, same age as Edmund, now the Brits have two young guys following the footsteps of Murray.

Tsitsipas has really come along nicely this year, from YE ranking of #91 to #39. He and Shapo have a good chance of finishing in the top 20. Rublev too if he comes back strong. Coric and Tiafoe....not so sure. For all that it seems that Coric is having a bit of a surge, he's stil only #40.

"That's great. We may have more chances of winning." I say hopefully & optimistically though I know that realistically that isn't likely to be the case. I speak as a Brit. I'm not greedy. Winning Wimbledon more often would be nice. I don't really care about the other tournaments but a British win is nice as we don't get many.

Regarding Tsitsipas, indeed his climbing was very impressive but it was due mainly to his performance on clay.
I am curious now how he will do on the other surfaces.

Hi Moxie

You have tried, but what you did is not exactly correct.
You took the live rankings, not the official rankings as of June 25, 2018.
The one's you took might not materialize, because the live ranking will be fluid through this week, and players will move based on the results posted this week.

It is wishful thinking for Fed to win Wimby. He has been underwhelming this year except for a few stretches of glorious tennis as only he can play it.

If Federer wins Wimbledon and Peasant loses at 3rd round or earlier, Federer will be back at #1.

What's up with all of the Federer fans thinking he's destined to lose this Wimby? He's still massively favored.

He is the favorite, but he is not massively favored. His chances are only 36%. In other words, the field has better chances than Federer. In other words, some body else winning is more probable than Federer winning.

On the other hand at RG, Rafa's chances were twice that of the field at the beginning of the tourney and when got to the finals, it became 79%.
