better ask him to come back. diversity in thought works here.

Nobody can run Cali off...Cali does not believe in "running"..it implies "physicality". You can maybe "jog" him off here gracefully, in a "pleasing -to-the-eye" manner.:sleepy:

Just teasing Cali:D

RE: Rafael Nadal : The Secret of His Greatness Revealed

Nadal's post-match interview (after beating Harrison) was fascinating, and provided a glimpse into what makes him so great.

http://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/interviews/2013-08-26/201308261377557061583.html

Rafa was asked if he'd ever considered a gluten-free diet. He then went on to explain that such a regimen (which can work for some folks) would likely alter his lifestyle and his desire to remain mentally fresh off the court (he'd have to obsess over all the small things). Nadal has always struck me as a guy who doesn't buy into all the bells and whistles; he's got a simple gladatorial strategy: work hard and find ample time to naturally refresh yourself.

He also said (as he has many times) that he goes to the court every day with the illusion of improving himself, and that Harrison needs to continue to improve if he wants to reach the top. He was complimentary of some aspects of Ryan's game as well.

Other than going "Tanya Harding" and hiring Shane Stant to "knee-cap" him? There is none.

I think he just went 18-0 on the hard courts.

you can make that 19-0 already. poor kohli has no chance at all.

if he is hitting his topspin forehand of death with consistency in the final, watch out.

he is going to destroy somebody in the final.

I think nadal really wants this now.

his backhand is starting to look more consistent so that is a huge plus for nadal. that means he does not have to give up too much real estate by always looking to hit forehands.

he can control the center of the court a little better when he is confident off both wings.

and it should come as no surprise that he is also returning a little better too. a return is nothing but a quick groundstroke.

that, however, should not and does not mean that I am happy with him.

there is more work to do.

Hey old buddy! Glad to see you've kept the torch burning for Nadal. As for who may stop Rafael, it will have to be the Serbian Slayer. Looking forward to that battle!

good to see you Andrew. do I know you from somewhere?

I came up with all those cool nicknames when I used to be at mtf.

clay monster is what I used to call nadal but then I changed it to "clay warrior".

nole was obviously the great Serbian slayer.

and then we had the great swiss assassin.

del potro got a nick name too: the great argentine slasher.

we need nicknames for jerzy and milos:

any suggestions?

I don't think so. not this time.

clay warrior has brought heavy artillery.

and we are not even sure nole is going to be in the final. I think spartan stan might remove him from the facilities tomorrow.

Well you said who "can" stop him. I was just stating the obvious.

Djokovic.

I think that the both of you feel good about Rafa's chances vs Djoker on the hardcourts this time. Sure.. it would be great to have that booming serve of 2010 but we will have to settle for the consistent serving which hopefully should be sufficient.. Rafa has learned to be more aggressive against Djoker but it takes some luck to beat "the Great Serbian Slayer".. There is still a lot of work to do

I feel good about his chances against Novak; I can tell y'all that. I think his game is better now than 2010 on hards.

clay warrior really needs this.

nole has a stranglehold on the Australian open.

so he will get going eventually.

this is a good time to ambush nole. I don't think nadal is going let him escape here this time.

looks like nadal is on a quest.

Wishful thinking. It will be Nole and Rafa. Pretty close to a pick'em but I lean slightly towards Nadal because Nole has been weak in the big matches the past 2 years. Good opportunity to buck the trend but until he does...
