^ And Broken is a Nadal man. He's also a reasonable assessor of the game. No reason to take after him, however he calls it. As I said, no one saw Nadal barreling through the No. Am. HC season. Not even me, and if I said it, I was faking it. :laydownlaughing

You put a lot of effort into championing Murray this summer, and not without reason, I thought, after the W at Wimby. However, don't start acting like that never happened, now, and accuse others of predicting against Nadal.

Moving forward, I wouldn't be sorry if we'd concentrate the conversation on a few threads, and get off all of these Nadal-gloating ones. It's unseemly, and putting people off. Since we're clearly beyond "Rafa is a relentless Winning machine," can we take this to your London Sidewalk Cafe chat? I would appreciate it, General.

RE: Rafael Nadal : The Relentless Match Winning Machine

i think andy gets wtf and then the Oz comes down to nadal and andy.

now that nadal is going to be #1, he can only meet nole in the final at Oz.

i really cant see anybody stopping nadal at Oz if nole gets andy in his 1/2 there.

i would assign the highest probability to nadal for the Oz title with the current dynamics.

we may be looking at a nadal vs murray final or we may end up having a nadal vs nole final.

one has to favor nadal in such scenarios now. especially this new nadal who has figured a few things.

mox andy was the defending champ at the u.s. open.

he ran over the best player in the game in straights at Wimbledon.

so picking andy to win the open was the right call. Sampras, lendl, and countless others too picked andy.

nadal was not even on the radar. he surprised the whole world. i am glad it all worked out for him. nobody expected it.

in fact after that loss to darcis, nadal had said that he was "day to day" with the knee.

mox i know you, me, and general Kieran are in the nadal camp.

i am not sure who the others are following. i have not been paying close enough attention to that.

i also know that lady iona likes murray.

ad of course i know that baron britbox likes roger and tommy haas.

You said Murray would win the 2014 Australian Open, despite everything pointing to Nadal, and nothing pointing to Murray. You sure you are in the Nadal camp?

There is no script in tennis. We have no idea who will win the AO14. A favourite tag means nothing. It is no guarantee you will be holding the trophy at the end of the fortnight. I wouldn't put money on any player right now as the AO is still a long time away. Djokovic has won the past 3 years. Murray was in the final last year. Nadal will probably be the favourite but as I said it doesn't mean he'll win.

i am going to cross examine him when he gets too carried away or says something about me or anybody else that is not true.

still it i consider it fun and games. we are all gathered here to have fun.

if you are going to take sides then why not take my side.

he is the one who is running around calling people "dense" and their posts "stupid". should you be talking to me or him?

well i am holding him accountable just so the stuff he advances is at least objective and also the truth.

i have no beef with him. he just needs to come clean.

:D:D:D

at any rate lets move forward with the story that is nadal. looks like very single forum is all about nadal.

he has suddenly become the biggest sports story on the planet. well he deserves all the accolades and all the recognition.

he has worked too hard and endured enough.

I never gave Murray a chance of winning the US Open. I was 100% sure Nadal would win it, and nearly everyone at ESPN also predicted Nadal-
Cahill - Murray
Dysdale - Nadal
Evert - Nadal
Fernandez - Nadal
Gilbert - Nadal
P. McEnroe - Nadal
Shriver - Nadal
Bryant - Nadal
Garber - Djokovic
Tandon - Nadal
Wilansky - Nadal

surely those predictions did not come out just after andy beat nole in straights at Wimbledon.

lot of people started to lean nadal`s way after he ran over montreal and cinci.

Because I think Broken always says what he means, and I think you have done a bit of wavering with the wind, and now you're trying to crawl it back, a bit. However, I'm not against you. It's all good conversation. And while Baron Broken can be a bit terse, it's only because he has spent effort to analyze fairly.

he spends quite a bit of time on it.

he was even training on this hard court just before Wimbledon.

looks like broken one is liking nadal's chances at the Australian open but just does not have guts to actually make the prediction.

also I am still waiting to see his post where he predicts that nadal would win cinci.

this is supposed to be right after he picked nadal to fail against nole in Montreal.

LOL, why wouldn't I dare to say I like Nadal's chances in Australia? At this point, he's the rightful favorite.

As far as my Cinci prediction, I didn't make it RIGHT after I picked him to lose to Novak in Montreal. That would be stupid, because, who the hell makes a prediction about a tournament before the semi-finals of a tournament that precedes it? I picked him to win it after he won Montreal. God you're dense.

so you even doubted him against Milos and yet you were quick to predict that nadal would win cinci.

how long have you been selling your snake oil?

and I have yet to see the post where you made the prediction.

How the hell have you deduced that I doubted him against Milos? Like everyone else, I thought he would crush Raonic.

cam down, grab a drink, and then we will talk.

you said very specifically that you had to wait until that final was over.

that means you either did not know that nadal would beat milos or you doubted nadal.

and yet you wasted zero minutes to make a prediction that nadal would win cinci.

so you first pick nadal to fail against nole

then you think he might fail against milos

and then you go on to pick nadal to win cinci?

how big was that last fish you caught? do you have anymore tall fish tales.

i will grab some popcorn.

:D:D:laydownlaughing:laydownlaughing:laydownlaughing

Jesus Christ. I waited until after the Montreal final to pick him to win Cincinnati because that's when we started talking about Cincinnati. When Montreal was taking place, all the talk was about Montreal (shocking, I know). When that ended, and we discussed Cinci, I thought Nadal would win it. Am I really having to explain such an obvious point?

Again, how on earth did you deduce I thought he might fail against Milos? He had just beaten Djokovic, who in their right mind would think he would lose to Raonic?

absolute rubbish. only wavering done was by the man whose side you keep taking. should you be doing that? why not do the right thing and be fair and just.

does he really need somebody to hold his hand?

he cant even produce the post where he claims or accuses me of saying that nadal needs to take 7 months off a year.

he was also cross examined about this BS about his prediction that nadal was going to win cinci and he ran.

now you are left to hold his hand.

he did not analyze fairly. that is just the point.

he was confrontational and pretty much always has been. that was one of the reasons why I left one of your boards in the past.

both you and your cronies were confrontational and unjust in the past at another board so I ran.

there is no call for that. I have worked very hard for your forum.

I let it all slide since we are only gathered here to have fun and to share one of the passions of our times which happens to be tennis.

it took me a while to bring nadalrg2005 here. should he and his posts be called stupid right from get go by mr broken one? I mean the man just go here.

the least we can do is treat him kindly. he twice called him and his posts "stupid".

and he called me "dense" but that is not the first time.

is that the best way to engage people who care enough to be with you at your forum?

still I am willing to make peace but you have to learn to be fair, just, and objective otherwise ultimately you will prove to be a liability to your very own forum.

and I am telling you that as a friend. be kind and be just.

your protected member has been ribbing me for a long time. I decided to let him know that he is really just all talk.

what the hell is wrong with that? also would you not eventually take a similar stand for yourself and fire back in a friendly way?

you are plenty feisty and full of energy, vitality, and pride and passion and I am starting to find that somewhat attractive . you would do exactly the same thing.

now lets get back the business of talking tennis.

apparently you did since you said that you had to "wait until the final was over" before your imaginary declaration that rafa would win cinci.

I'm not holding anyone's hand here, and everyone is entitled to an opinion, including me. You have been angry in the recent past that we've over-moderated. Now you're mad that we're not moderating enough in your favor, or in that of your friends. We are trying to take a reasonably casual stance here, and we count on the rest of you to be self-regulating. If you have a problem, send a PM. Otherwise, people come here for debate, and they have take it, if they're going to dish it out. Opinions are to be disputed.

Otherwise, Peace, Samson. And, yes, let's get back to the business of talking tennis.

affirmative mox. peace and friendship above all.

I had no choice but to give broken one a little lecture and a taste of his own medicine. I decided to cross examine him a little bit. naturally he could not come up with those posts because they never happened.

maybe now he will proceed with better care for those who care enough to come here to be with you all.

its your house. we show enough care and respect to come here and spend time with you.

I expect kindness. we never go back to places where people are inattentive, rude, careless, and unkind.

as a mater of fact I was already exploring some other forums. but no worries. I am always looking at different forums. there are no shortages of forums. I own one myself but it is brand spanking new. it has only 12 members. it will take me 2-3 years to make something out of it.

but baron is a friend of mine and I want to hang out with him here. he has always been a very special and a very kind friend to me. I would like to do what I can to help your forum grow.

you do have good people here.

anyway I don't like moderation. I was not asking you to moderate. I was asking you to be fair, kind, and just.

moderation should be replaced by a better term: a forum facilitator.

I think such a term would work better. it brings people in. moderation runs them off.

at any rate lets get back to tennis.

and let the good times roll.

we have so much to look forward to now. we have davis cup, thai open in about a week, shanghai masters with 1000 points at stake.

I just read somewhere that nole is not going to give up on the idea of being #1 for this year.

All he needs is the AO as RG he could probably win blindfolded with both legs in a cast. So yeah it's quite possible he wins two if he wins the AO. Good few months away though and they're all gonna be practicing hard and also all will enter that event with some degree of rust as Brisbane and Doha don't serve as much in the way of match play in advance.

I wonder how Nadal is going to treat Wimbledon if he is playing for THE RAFA SLAM. They are changing the date of Wimbledon to a week later, but not until 2015. But, with no bandages on the knees in 2014, Nadal may be ready.

Looking ahead? Novak has won the AO three years in a row.

Good point. Looking ahead to Rafa winning the AO is optimistic. Projecting the Rafa Slam means that some need to put on their oxygen masks and breathe deeply. To paraphrase Kieran, (and, ahem, Shakespeare,) 'one late-summer swallow does not a Rafa Slam make.' (With apologies.)

I thought we were just about to look forward to Shanghai, maybe Paris, and the WTF. Even the AO is a stretch.
