RE: Rafael Nadal : The Relentless Match Winning Machine

nadal had that Oz final in the bag.

either he choked or he ran out of gas or both.

he would be sitting on 14 slams today.

he spends quite a bit of time on it.

he was even training on this hard court just before Wimbledon.

looks like broken one is liking nadal's chances at the Australian open but just does not have guts to actually make the prediction.

also I am still waiting to see his post where he predicts that nadal would win cinci.

this is supposed to be right after he picked nadal to fail against nole in Montreal.

LOL, why wouldn't I dare to say I like Nadal's chances in Australia? At this point, he's the rightful favorite.

As far as my Cinci prediction, I didn't make it RIGHT after I picked him to lose to Novak in Montreal. That would be stupid, because, who the hell makes a prediction about a tournament before the semi-finals of a tournament that precedes it? I picked him to win it after he won Montreal. God you're dense.

Sure how many matches could you say that about?! Novak had exactly the same scenario in RG this year, Fed had 2 MPs in the 5th set twice in the US Open against Novak. If they had it in the bag, they would've bagged it but they didn't.

let's see the post where you predicted nadal to win cinci.

and that is after you picked him to fail against nole in Montreal.

I guess you thought nole ,andy, and roger were going on a bass fishing trip and just skip cinci.

can you list a name of a single tennis expert that picked him to win cinci?

not exactly. you are all talk old sport.

let's see post where you bravely picked nadal to win cinci based on a single tiebreaker that could have gone either way.

and that was the final by the way. we all know nadal can beat Milos while playing with a frying pan instead of a tennis racquet.

Come on, Clay. When Rafa is on a roll, you should predict him to win anywhere...

RE: Rafael Nadal : The Relentless Match Winning Machine

Not sure why so much back-and-forth over who picked Nadal, where, and when. He won Canada, Cincy and the USO, a combo that was a surprise even to his most blinkered and ardent fans. (And I count myself amongst them.)

@Front: Your above about the AO final 2012...I completely agree. The guy that won that final "should" have, because he did. Same with RG SF 2013. For the fans on the losing side of each, it's a bitter pill to take when the losing player was so close, but I don't see how folks can cry over one, and not agree that the other was a close shave. One evens the other out, in a way that you rarely get in sports, so respective camps should give it a rest over complaining about either loss. IMO.

Brother, it's very easy to find all my posts on this forum. But you ask for predictions? I'm the guy who was mocked and ridiculed for saying Rafa would get back to #1 just after he withdrew from Miami 2012!

:clap That's true enough! CD, I don't see why you're poking at so many Nadal stalwarts about picking him, when you yourself were soooo "not happy with him" for most of the summer, while you were all over Murray's chances. (And you were rather not happy with me, apparently, for pointing that out.:plot)

How the hell have you deduced that I doubted him against Milos? Like everyone else, I thought he would crush Raonic.

actually truth be told, I have no idea who broken one likes or dislikes.

I am only asking him to produce the post where he predicted that nadal would win cinci.

that is not too much to ask since he is the one who runs around calling people "dense" and their posts "stupid".

I am ok with that. people have a right to their opinions and we are all just having fun here anyway.

but you are going to jump on me because I refused to pick rafa over nole and then I refused to pick him to win cinci then I too have some recourse.

1. broken one claims that I said that nadal needs to take 7 months off a year. i would not say such a thing. i don't want nadal to miss a single day of tennis.

2. he says he predicted nadal to fail against nole and yet he predicted that nadal would win cinci.

nadal had never done well in cinci. he had been out of the sport for 7 months. he got blasted off the court by a 2 foot tall shrimp.

nadal even at the very height of his powers like in 2010 never managed to do well in cinci. and certainly he never bagged both montreal and cinci back to back.

last time he won so many titles was 2005.

anyway then he claims that he waited until the final was over against milos. that suggests that he doubted nadal against milos and yet wasted no time at all in predicting a nadal win in cinci.

there is not a single person who is a tennis insider who made such a prediction or would make such a prediction.

so this is all in fun and games. we are just having fun here.

so in the name of fun and games, why is it so difficult for him to find that post where he says he made that prediction.

cam down, grab a drink, and then we will talk.

you said very specifically that you had to wait until that final was over.

that means you either did not know that nadal would beat milos or you doubted nadal.

and yet you wasted zero minutes to make a prediction that nadal would win cinci.

so you first pick nadal to fail against nole

then you think he might fail against milos

and then you go on to pick nadal to win cinci?

how big was that last fish you caught? do you have anymore tall fish tales.

i will grab some popcorn.

Rafael Nadal has been the best player during 2013.
Nobody around could beat him even on his worst surface.

But he's likely won his last major off clay.
And he might jeopardize an easy 2 more wins at Roland Garros that would put him past Sampras.
The man cannot resist getting on the hard courts.

Nadal is only just beginning his hardcourt prime. The 22 straight hardcourt wins (and counting) should have told you that. Several more hardcourt slam titles for Nadal are on the way. Also, Wimbledon is being scheduled a week later in 2015. That gives Nadal more time to celebrate Roland Garros and recover. Sorry, but Djokovic's time is up. That's the guy that may never win another major (on any surface). Meanwhile Nadal (with no bandages) is only just getting started, and going for the Double Career Grand Slam.

You said Murray would win the 2014 Australian Open, despite everything pointing to Nadal, and nothing pointing to Murray. You sure you are in the Nadal camp?

RE: Rafael Nadal : The Relentless Match Winning Machine

nole probably finds himself under immense pressure now:

he has wtf to defend and he has the Oz to defend.

i have a feeling that nadal has made up his mind to go after Oz.

and then there andy. he lost a little bit of focus at flushing meadows but he is going to be coming back quite strong.

i have a feeling that andy is going to bag wtf. he is on a bit of a roll in London.
