RE: Rafael Nadal: The Ultimate Doomsday Stroking Machine

Actually, I did make it a new thread:

Hopefully, we can move on from this one.

Can I ask you something CD? Can we start that in another thread? The title of this one is so gloating and off-putting. It frankly embarrasses me. I'd love to answer the questions, but can't we do it in a fresh conversation? I think that would be nice. :)

I just keep changing the titles to keep it interesting.

the thread has traction. people are naturally curious about popular threads so they go check those out first.

and of course it takes a little bit of work to keep them going as well.

I don't think it is off putting and gloating. I happen to be nadal`s greatest critic and his greatest enemy. lot of people know me and have known me for years. I have never been easy on nadal.

I have a lot of people who tell me that I am a actually a roger fan since I am so harsh on nadal.

at any rate popular threads drive traffic and bring in people.

he really is a the ultimate doomsday stroking machine. anybody who does not know that or understand that just does not know the game. so we speak the truth but in a little more dramatic and animated way.

his 8 RG crowns alone make him the ultimate doomsday stroking machine. anybody who denies that or denies him that credit is a fool.

anyway I am just trying to help your forum while I am still here.

as for new threads, have at it. keep them coming. I say there is no harm in doing that. it will generate additional interest and traffic.

RE: The Magic of Rafael Nadal

I am not believe this madness. this is a line from a poster from another forum:

"He's playing an exo in Perú with Ferrer, one in Chile with Djokovic, one in Argentina with Djokovic, and two in Argentina with Nalbandián.
No idea about the surfaces".

I have a feeling that they will all be on indoor hard courts. this is to be in December.

so while the magic of nadal is that while he is wise beyond his years when it comes to winning matches, he has no sense as to when to stop or slow down his infatuation on the hard courts.

this is risky business. he can call it whatever he wants but this is nothing more than greed.

will all this hard court madness in such a short time span put him in a compromising position again?

or can he can he continue to win matches anyway?

I think his winning percentage is around 83% which is the highest in the sport. somebody need to double check the number for accuracy. I am not 100% certain. it may even be higher.

An exhibition is a glorified practice session. No harm.

compounded and cumulative damage to the knee can end his career.

I would not be taking such huge risks with just 2-3 good years remaining.

and especially now that he has put himself in a position to go after some history of his own.

the wear and the tear on the knee and the joints is cumulative and adds up over time.

it happens to every single one of us too but he actually has a long history of knee trouble.

Nobody knows the limits of Nadal. With 100% healthy tendons in 2013 (unlike 2008-2012), 2-3 good years may turn into 4-5 good years. I bet a lot of people would have said 2-3 good years from 2009, and here we are in 2013 winning 22 straight matches on hardcourt. There is no blueprint for Nadal. He's the first of his kind. Nadal is actually better at age 27 than Federer was, despite Nadal having a lot of mileage already from dominant teen years. They are really not cut from the same cloth.

what would you do if you were nadal right now?

some reports have surfaced that he could hardly bend his knee after davis cup.

is he just playing in pain and not worrying about anything except winning matches?

does he just want to go out in a blaze of glory?

I personally would drop basel and shanghai asap. the risk is just enormous at this point.

he risks much and maybe all if there is another knee related episode.

this is truly a phenomenon with him considering he plays such risk free/high percentage tennis.

CD will you post a source? If this true, than dropping Basel is probably a no brainer.

well I saw something on another forum.

there was also a picture of him sitting down with his davis cup team. the picture showed very clearly that he could not bend his knee.

evidently he also made some general remarks: something to the effect that what he was doing was not good for his body.

it could only mean that he still has sufficient pain in the knee. how could he not?

just look at all the hard court activity compressed into such a short period of time.

take a close look at this picture. he is not able to bend his knee.

he is obviously enjoying winning matches again but you know he has to play with great deal of pain.

^ Actually you don't know that for sure. I've seen a lot of people bend with only one knee instead of 2. Its pretty common actually, by choice. I've done it too, by choice. Not everything is done symmetrically.

Maybe he prefers being photographed in this pose. There are tons of ways to interpret his stance. And even if it is sore, how is he in any more pain than Hewitt who has metal plates fusing his left big toe, Stepanek with plates in his neck, Haas who has broken every conceivable bone if his body. The list goes is endless. All players experience pain. They're not cyborgs. No point playing Shanghai I agree, but if he wants to do well at the WTF, Basel is the best tune up in terms of being the most similar surface. And he also gets a shot at Del Potro and Fed there for some top tier indoor tennis practice. Quite sure Fed's level will go up a bit for indoor season.

I am liking the sound of this already. he will be going to rio just as I predicted and anticipated the other day:

Nadal To Play Inaugural Rio Open

Rafael Nadal, the reigning US Open and Roland Garros champion, will be in Rio de Janeiro from 15-23 February to play South American’s biggest tennis event, the inaugural Rio Open.

“I am looking forward to playing for the first time ever in Rio de Janeiro. I have heard so much about the city, and now I will finally have the opportunity to be there,” said Nadal. “All around the world, when I play, I can feel the love of the Brazilian people.”

Nadal became the first man to win the same Grand Slam tournament eight times with his Roland Garros victory this year and is one of only seven players in the history of the sport to have won the career Grand Slam.

You can bet he is. Imagine what they'll pay him to play there.

he was asking a cool $1 million in appearance fees over 3 years ago.

one can only imagine what that jumped to given the fact that he has 8 RG crowns and total of 13.

don't think he is going to basel to shake hands with people. they threw a boat load of money at him.
