Good old Dave Edmunds and his Rockpile group, was Rock n Roll all the way. Showed and gave a lot of respect to the american original rock n rollers.

Kind of like this. Back then late 70's it was Disco, Hard Rock and MOR music that ruled. But Dave and his band went against the trend and with class.

This Gifted Lady in her hey-day sure knew how to put together a show, with Rock, Country and Folk music her forte. She was numero uno in the looks department too

Great sounding soundoard recording and sound mix, worthy of a commercial release per career retro box set.

Found an interesting Sissy Spacek (aka Rainbo) called 'John, You Went Too Far This Time', circa 1968.
Not sure if she was protesting Lennon's 'We're More Famous Than Jesus' or his relationship with Yoko Ono. What do you guys think of this tune ? To me it's sounds like a third rate 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds'

Found an early recording of Don McLean singing "American Pie" unearthed from the archives of WMUC radio, a student run station at the University of Maryland.

The station believes the recording originates from spring 1971, well before the song was released for sale as a single. There are some differences between this WMUC recording and the lyrics and music as we know them from the record.

Don McLean has listened to the recording but doesn't recall anything about it except to say that, in general, he did "play with the lyrics, just for fun sometimes."

Thank God he changed that lyric "Pinched the Queen".

Not a fan of this one @Robert Zimmerman - it actually reminds me of a piece you'd expect at a pantomime. Not her best work.

Still sounds pretty good even in it's infancy.

Hey you're right britbox. It's a shocker. But only Diehard Beatles fans and collectors would appreciate it for it's novelty value. The ACE compilation also features Cher (circa 1965). Her first solo recording was the unsuccessful novelty single "Ringo, I Love You," released under the pseudonym of Bonnie Jo Mason and produced by Phil Spector.-
