Jeez, Robert - this is as tough as....

Really struggling with this one.

3. Instrumental Cover of Tina Turner's "What's love got to do with it". Not sure who did the instrumental.

I'm not sure who did any of the others, but one of the later ones - 8 or 9 (not sure, because I thought there were 13 tracks).. sounds kind of Johnny Cash - like.

Yes britbox I know. But nearly all are popular songs of the 60's, 70's and 80's, and two television themes. I was trying to mix things up. I'll help you, my friend. Think of two of the really iconic British '60's Bands and One Brit who passed away early this year. They are featured. BTW you are spot on with # 3.

I like tough Rob. I'll be revisiting this for sure.

Good on you mate. I thought about putting in an Elvis instrumental to the quiz , one he did not add his vocals. But that would be really tough. Shakin' Stevens eventually recorded this tune. You know 'Fire Down Below' ?

This is that same Elvis song he was due to record in February 1977 but cancelled the recording session. His TCB music band wrote this as a desperate attempt to get Elvis back to cutting Rock and Roll songs. It makes a cool instrumental don't you think ? -

Wonder what happened to Shaky? The Welsh Elvis.... :) Don't remember seeing him on any of those 80s retro tours.

Dunno mate that's worth dropping a line to Mr. Google. Re. The instrumentals quiz and the fragments I put together, they are authentic. It seems that there is software that can remove the vocals and just keep it as a music only track. Just like this -

Oh, I love these. Just home from an amazing modern opera event. (Yeah, yeah, I know. Sounds like pulling teeth, but it wasn't! Rather inscrutable, but excellent and fun. Strangers were chatting madly away about it on our subway ride back downtown.) I'll give a listen, then will probably have to put it off to tomorrow. Thanks for doing these, @Robert Zimmerman!

My pleasure Moxie and a Happy Easter to You.

Not wanting to sidetrack you guys but I just been watching on YT some really awesome film and creative process on the Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' and the separate 45 single 'Good Vibrations'. This time 50 years ago they finished the album that became a Benchmark. If you have not seen this I hope you enjoy these links, folks.

Now this is the 'God Only Knows' link which will direct you guys to the rest of the album. Enjoy !

I say it's time for a 50th anniversary edition blu ray and CD (including 'Good Vibrations') will do nicely...

Thanks again. Yeah i do regret doing this particular instrumental quiz. I should have just kept to the popular artists. If Britbox wants me to, I'll give out the answers ASAP and then on the third quiz just change back to popular songs.

I don't think there's any benefit to making them so obscure. It would be fun to get more people to do them, and if they're too challenging, no one will. It's probably less fun for you, but, as I said before, we're a tennis board. Cut us a little slack! ;)

Don't give them out just yet... We'll see if we can get a few more first :)

OK then I won't but a few clues now

#1 was a huge selling instrumental record when it was on release in 1973 by a Brit. The album was also the same title as the instrumental. Initials MO.

#2 was a well known Jazz standard as long ago as 1940 (popularized by the Glen Miller Band). In the late-50's a famous guitar living legend had waxed it.

#4 you're looking at an iconic 60's British band who are still active.

#12 is a snippet by another iconic 60's group from the US. David Lee Roth covered the same tune.

#6 is a seventies tv theme tune. Danny De Vitto was in the cast.

#9 is an 1980's popular american tv tune. A police drama series, it lasted seven seasons. What was the title of the tv series ?
