Good on you mate. Also i received a text message on my mobile fone this morning (Friday 10.00am) from SANITY music store telling me my double cd copy of the album has arrived. Just got back home less than 20 minutes ago (Noon here) and am about to play disc 2 (ie with the alternate takes and rehearsal material). I'll put up a review later , on the Appreciation topic.

I love this song but it's not my favourite Gene Pitney song. I didn't realise that either but that's because I was born in the early 80's. I agree. ;0)

No, no the song that Horsa posted “24 hours to Tulsa” is about a guy who dumps his girlfriend after a fling with a girl he meets on the way home to Tulsa. At the end of the song the guys ( voiced by Gene) basically shrugs his shoulders and says “ what else could I do?”

The guy being portrayed in the song is the jerk, NOT Gene Pitney.

I got that & agree.

Vince shared some good songs but my favourite Gene Pitney songs are "Yesterday's hero", "Nobody's child" & "A town without pity".

Yes.... and no !

The music is identical but the italian tittle and it's lyrics are different words to what the "Half-Heaven, Half-Heartaches" was.

The italian title "Ritorna" means Return. My italian isn't the best but i'm sure MOX can vouch for the translations.
