^ Awesome song, man. Bloodsport is such a blast. Van Damme has still got it, too. Just casually doing some splits between two volvo trucks...

Oh yeah, that's corny as well. Part of its charm, though. How about Kickboxer? Tong-Po was one kick-ass villain.

Tong Po was cool alright except in Kickboxer 4 lol. Different actor with stuck on eyebrows. The Paul Hertzog soundtracks to Bloodsport and Kickboxer are class too.

For a very good recent martial arts flick I recommend Blood And Bone (2009) with Michael Jai White. Unreal martial artist and in great shape considering he's 46 now. This was 5 years ago but unreal shape with a good deal of help from science no doubt :D Black belt in 7 different martial arts.

He's got a cool deep menacing voice. First scene is dead cool. Hardly the best quality but check it out anyway here.

Edited the link for a better 720p copy so it's actually decent picture quality now.

Yeah, great soundtracks.

Man, Kickboxer 4 was an embarrassment. I mean, how the hell did the crew think we'd believe that would be Tong Po? He also gets his ass kicked by David at the end of the film which made no sense. We all expected him to lose, but he hardly put up a fight.

Kickboxer 2 is a lot of fun, I reckon, even if it did make little sense that Kirk and Eric had another brother that was not mentioned at all in the first film.

And cheers for the rec. Added to my to-see list! Looks like a good film.

Yeah, I liked Kickboxer 2 as well. I've also maintained Sascha Mitchell started taking steroids before Kickboxer 4. Look at the difference in size between him in Kickboxer 2 and 4! Not to mention his voice deepened quite a bit in Kickboxer 4. Kind of a shame he never did anymore decent martial arts flicks.

Great film. Great hard-arse cast too. In the mood now for Shaolin or When the last sword is drawn...

Check out 13 Assassins if you haven't watched that. Takashi Miike makes some cool films. Ichi The Killer is mental :D Both have extended versions so don't watch the cut ones.

Kitano makes some kick-ass films, too. Violent Cap is a hilarious black comedy.

Yeah that's a great film alright  Big fan of the early HK action stuff from John Woo before he turned to Hollywood. So many great ones with Chow Yun-Fat (aka Yun-Fat Chow): Hard Boiled, The Killer, The Replacement Killers, A Better Tomorrow 1-3, Bullet In The Head. Loads more. All awesome.
