where is general masterclass when you need him. general check out his court positioning on his return of serve.

he is just plain nuts. is this any way to return serve?

he might as well return it from Mallorca.

I mean that is how scared he is of a big serve.

and the people wonder why I am not happy with the clay warrior.

the castle trivia question of the day:

name the tennis player who was so wealthy that he actually lived in a real castle.

hint: he was also the best dressed tennis player of his day.

Awesome castles General Hercules! Had no idea a player owned one. Maybe Andrew Castle. :D

Rafa needs a lot more time to prepare his shot these days and stands as far back as he can without running into the line officials and ball kids.

Seems like somebody would be able to serve and volley against him with impunity the way he mostly floats his first return back to the middle of the court. Or hit a slow slice first serve now and then to Rafa should work as well.

Ashwin. I agree with what you said about Federer's new racquet play. He seems to have a bit more power at the expense of control.

He's made some fantastic flick and stretch shots with it. The ball is flying off his racquet at times and some of his volleys are going into the net. I think the weight distribution might be different as well. He is getting some big mishits, even with a bigger racquet. Mishits are mostly due to timing issues, and the weight of the racquet can certainly affect that. It might take him awhile to adjust.

It's a big deal to change a racquet after playing with the same one over so many years. IF it is not working for him, he might change back. We will see. He has a couple of these clay tournaments to practice with it before hitting the hard court masters and US Open. On faster hard courts he won't have as much time to prepare, so he needs to get his timing working on the clay and then make the hard court adjustment.

Respectfully,
masterclass

glad you found us general ashwin.

great to see you here and be a part of a spectacular tennis community here.

I think the new racquet is going to help him. he was looking for a little more mustard on the serve and slightly more easy power off the ground.

he will find it with this racquet.

t3nnis.tv
tennishaven
tennis frontier
tennis 4 you
MTF ( left that site a long time ago.-- just after 1 week i joined to be precise )

was watching Verdasco's match..i think he might lose this one if he does not control his temper..he's been frustrated since the moment he lost that tight 2nd set TB..:nono
