Welcome to the Tennis Frontier Nikki. Glad you made it through the sign up process :)

Thank you. It was a bit of a hassle but now I'm here.

Nikki, Would you like to select a castle, a title (ie. Duchess Nikki) and state your player allegiance, and I'll add you to the the Cast of Characters on the opening post to the thread. (all a bit of fun).

Duchess Nikki sounds posh.
Anyway, that's my castle:

Player allegiances? Hummm, the clay warriors and the crazy Russian, Youzh. ;)

welcome to the castle princess nikki the great. you are the fairest of the fairest.

it is always an honor to be in the presence of your company.

you, lady betty, and lady ann are in a class by itself.

we need to get hold of Duncan, samono, Feldman, and ann. they will love this place.

if ever there was heaven at a tennis forum, this wonderful place is it.

here you impeccable defenses : legless, toothless, hapless, assless, clueless, lifeless, blind hate infested trolls are turned away and then hanged very quickly.

and you have astonishing levels of respect and kindness.

I am just loving the peace and quiet here. I can finally get some work done while I am relaxing here.

It is good to be here. I hope we can chat more in the next few months. I have been really busy lately.

Good day folks. Some info I posted in one of the other forums...

Jimmy Connors. 16 straight years in the top 10 (1973-1988), 17 in the top 20 (1973-1989).
Ivan Lendl had 13 straight years in the top 10 (1980-1992), 15 in the top 20 (1979-1993).
Pete Sampras had 12 straight years in the top 10 (1990-2001), 13 in the top 20 (1990-2002).

Andre Agassi had a total of 16 years in the top 10, but not consecutively. He fell out of the top 20 in 1993 and 1997. (1988-1992), (1994-1996), (1998-2005)

Among active players:
Roger Federer has 11 straight years (2002-2012) in the top 10 and 10 in the top 3.
Rafael Nadal has 8 straight years (2005-2012) in the top 10 and also top 4.
-----------------

And credit goes to Sir Litotes or Markus, who further put this in terms of weeks:

Jimmy Connors has the record - 788 straight weeks from (week beginning) 27/8-1973 to (week beginning) 26/9-88.
Ivan Lendl is second. His numbers are not verified, I do not know exactly when he entered, but an estimation gives him 626 weeks from 19/5-80 to 11/5-92
Pete Sampras is 3rd on 565 weeks, 10/9-90 - 2/7-01
Roger Federer is 4th, and will become 3rd very soon, currently on 562 weeks, 14/10-02 - today
Stefan Edberg is 5th on 493 weeks, 9/9-85 - 13/2-95
....
Rafael Nadal is 8th on 430 weeks.

and what can we say about general masterclass. he is widely regarded as the greatest poster in the world. lets open our arms and welcome him.

I have come up with an intriguing idea for general masterclass that we need to discuss today.

is it possible for him to have his own section that he can moderate? we will call it "The Masterclass Tennis Corner". he can let it evolve in any form, shape, or fashion he sees fit or desires.

we will all help support it and get it off the ground. here people will come with their tennis questions and the like. we can even try to get a real life retired tennis pro as a guest at "the masterclass tennis corner" once in a blue moon.

it will be like a relaxed talk show with all of us helping in anyway we can. its an innovative idea whose time has come.

we are all very busy and so is general masterclass so we will just do what we can. no explosice growth is to be expected. we will just let things take their own natural course.

Thanks for the kind words and the idea General. Masterclass Tennis Corner sounds like a good idea. ;) I'll have to think about it. Thanks.

Bellville basher`s stat of top 20 for nearly 20 years is just insane.

goes to show how well he must have hit the ball. his mechanics must have been close to perfect. it is a brutal sport that can break you and your body down in a matter of just a few years if you don't have decent mechanics.

even borg--as unorthodox as he was--had fairly flawless mechanics.

great looking castle princess nikki.

speaking of youzhny, he has been doing fairly well as of late. he may just do well on the north American hard court circuit.

he has an aggressive, all court game. it translates well to the hard courts.

Absolutely. I'm especially looking forward to the hard court season because I will have more time to follow the matches (except for the couple of weeks when I will be on holidays). Reaching the final in Halle has been one of the highlights of Misha's year so far. I'm looking forward to more great results from him in the upcoming months.

Hey there, Castle.

What's up and what's new? Sorry that I cannot watch any tennis this week and provide my opinions, I'm so busy at work, I barely have time to post, but I'll be looking around on all tennis forums.:D

Just to tell you in advance (for curiosity's sake), I have decided to accept the Global Moderator position at T4U, and I'll be helping the place get back on track. It's really not my style to envelop myself in a forum, invest and contribute there and then desert it. I won't say anything more, because each of us out there has their own needs, desires and paths to follow in life, and is free to choose which/how many forum(s) they like.;)

lendl says that andy has nole under pressure:

http://network.yardbarker.com/tennis/article_external/ivan_lendl_andy_murray_has_novak_djokovic_under_pressure/14035067?linksrc=foxrg_tennis

Andy Murray has quickly gone from being a player who couldn’t win the big one to being possibly the top player in the world. In many ways, his career is following LeBron James’, which is exactly who he compared himself to before he won the gold medal at the Olympics, the US Open, and Wimbledon. Murray is playing so well lately — he’s won two of the last four majors and the Olympics — that his coach believes he has world No. 1 player Novak Djokovic “under pressure.”

“If somebody has two majors and an Olympic gold medal, and everybody else has only one major each [in the last year], well, [people] can make their own opinion on that,” coach Ivan Lendl said after Murray beat Djokovic in straight sets, per the Guardian.

“Novak is a great player, don’t get me wrong,” Lendl said. “He has had not just a phenomenal 12 months, but basically since the start of 2011 and so the rankings look at all of that. But he is under pressure right now.”

Oh, man, I want Lendl in my corner, too. No matter how much Andy's paying him, he's worth it.

you know general tented the invincible I had my doubts about lendl:

1. first he was too damn wealthy and he also loved his golf. all his daughters are also fantastic golfers from what I hear.

2. he had lost 11 slam finals

I was just not sure how he was going to help andy.

now I hear that he has been a huge help in the "testicular fortitude" department.

even andy`s grandmother made some remarks about it. she said lendl has helped andy with mental toughness.

now andy needs to take his fitness even higher and run with this momentum for a while and shake the tennis world.

martina must be inspired by all the 30 year olds winning titles on the atp circuit. and she probably admires roger and tommy haas.

it looks like a Ferrari. probably custom stuff.

no telling what it costs. my wild guess will be that it is around $700,000.00 or more.

I saw a space age bicycle made by audi--called a super bike--costing around $80,000.00.

anyway this is the clay warrior. sent by the gods to destroy all adversaries at RG for a full decade:

you know I was wondering which title means the most to him. he has so many. he has 24 or so masters shields alone which is the most in history.

it is almost unfair that one man could have so much. he has davis cup wins, Olympic glory, 8 RG crowns, 2 wimby crowns, and so on and on.

It would have to be the first slam. his first RG crown. that is what started it all.

here you go princess moxie. this one is for you:

rogers cup in montreal is just days away now:
