Finally some good antibiotics to take. :) I won't stay at home tonight anyway, maybe just a little change of plans. Like that I will finally get the chance to catch a few more matches.

good to see you nikki. hope you feel better fast.

now I am having some allergy issues. I am out all day which means more exposure to the pollens in the area.

I am taking over the counter allergy stuff like Claritin but it is not helping.

I also have allergies. Fortunately they aren't causing me any problems at the moment.

I have so many different medication against allergies but after a while they simply don't do their job anymore because your body gets used to them.

I told everyone just yesterday not to talk about people and events on other tennis forums. Britbox told everyone the same thing a week or so ago. If you want to talk about them, send each other PMs.

Do you mean a death should not be reported?

If you, or someone else here, start discussing other people and events on other message forums, then someone else will, then someone else will, etc.

Again, Britbox told everyone to check all of this at the door, and I reiterated this yesterday. The vast majority of people here don't know who those people are, or the events which transpired. If you want to discuss those things, you're welcome to send PMs to each other.

I love both but Hewitt is more my emotional choice but I'd like Delpo to advance. This would be hard to watch but still exciting. They are pretty even as far as the H2H goes but this hard surface should favour Delpo. Hewitt had their last win on grass.

Have the same feeling that DelPo is slightly favored on this surface, and yes, I love both their game styles, yet Hewitt was my favorite before Federer, so he's going to be my heart's choice.

I think Hewitt has a chance if he can concentrate enough to finish the game faster. He was able to beat him at Wimbledon in 2009 when DelPo was pretty much in shape using this exact tactic, yet the surface is going to backfire on him, so I doubt he can succeed. It's more likely that Hewitt gets a set, but no more than that.

I agree. At this point, I don't see Hewitt being capable of being competitive enough to beat JMDP on these courts. I keep thinking about that incredible semifinal at Wimbledon. There's no way Hewitt could keep up with that level of play. Lleyton's body is too beat up for such battles these days.

I find him slightly biased on certain matters, unfortunately but I like him as a person. He's a good poster.

btw i agree about not talking about people on other boards, what about censoring links to other tennis sites, that's the next logical step:p

No, it's not. That's a completely different issue. From the beginning we've allowed people to link to blogs and news items on tennis.com and other tennis sites, and even things such as the New York Times, Forbes, etc.

But if Delpo/Hewitt match does become very competitive given that it's a night match and probably won't be as taxing on LLeyton, this will be bad news for Delpo. He already had a tough time against Garcia-Lopez. If he fancies any chances against Nole, he must remain healthy and fresh.

I won't be able to see Murray's match in the meantime as I am at work, but as long as he wins, I am not going to complain.

Why thank you Emma. :)

As much as I intend to be fairly unbiased, I think it's certainly possible that various occasional opinions of mine show a small degree of bias. I think it's almost unavoidable. Even a person who posts pure statistics has a small bias when they decide which statistics they will use.

It's well known, see my Legends signature, that I certainly have a bias towards great tennis and the players that have produced the greatest tennis over the many years I have watched professional tennis. The next likely entry on my greats list will be Novak Djokovic. He's very close, and he doesn't need a French Open to be added, but a few more majors would probably do the trick.

But they don't have to be great for me to appreciate them. I respect the good efforts of any players I see play and will generally congratulate and applaud them when they win, and offer my commiserations when they do not. It's a very competitive sport, sometimes lucky and sometimes cruel, in that there can only be one winner of a match and one winner of a tournament.

Respectfully,
masterclass

I don't mind verbosity. Unless it's verbosity for verbosity's sake. Which isn't the case with you. :)
