I find him slightly biased on certain matters, unfortunately but I like him as a person. He's a good poster.

As much as I intend to be fairly unbiased, I think it's certainly possible that various occasional opinions of mine show a small degree of bias. I think it's almost unavoidable. Even a person who posts pure statistics has a small bias when they decide which statistics they will use.

It's well known, see my Legends signature, that I certainly have a bias towards great tennis and the players that have produced the greatest tennis over the many years I have watched professional tennis. The next likely entry on my greats list will be Novak Djokovic. He's very close, and he doesn't need a French Open to be added, but a few more majors would probably do the trick.

But they don't have to be great for me to appreciate them. I respect the good efforts of any players I see play and will generally congratulate and applaud them when they win, and offer my commiserations when they do not. It's a very competitive sport, sometimes lucky and sometimes cruel, in that there can only be one winner of a match and one winner of a tournament.

I agree that it's virtually impossible to avoid being biased given that we are all human beings and our emotions are strictly based on what we personally like or dislike. We do have the left brain and we do exercise logic when it comes to problems, but I am afraid, when it comes to family, friends, people, players, celebrities etc. we base it on our strong likes and dislikes. Perhaps only Spock is able to give a very unbiased opinion since his emotion is purely based on logic.

But I like you as a human being and that's far more important.

Yes, Marv, really an amazing actress, and not just on film. Her stage work was also incredible.

It's such a shame that she had her illnesses in a time when they didn't have adequate treatment.

hmmm, ok if you say those remarks weren't meant that way, and with the deletion of the defense it tot looked like he got trolled and then abused, looks like just a misunderstanding

about chatting about other boards, we've been members on many tennis sites and sometimes it's good to gossip about the past, ofc when tennisfrontier gets older we'll have more stuff that happened here to talk about, including this little drama and it will be easier to ignore other boards

Tented, I hadn't seen this before, but after reviewing, I think the bolded part of this is absolute nonsense. This is a chat thread. The Castle has a long history, whether it's located here or elsewhere, the people that chat often have a shared history.

It's perfectly natural to talk about these types of things amongst themselves, and I see no problem with it as long as the chat doesn't get nasty or insulting or rude to other posters here. If it does then put a stop to it, but if it doesn't, leave it be. No reason to alienate yourself is there?

In real life, if I run into a group of people chatting about something I know nothing about and become bored or not interested because I'm not part of it, I simply go about my business, I don't tell them to stop talking about whatever they are talking about because I have no idea what they are talking about. Wouldn't that be rather rude and arrogant? Let their conversation finish and start your own conversation. Or start your own conversation anyway if you like. People are used to multi-threaded conversations these days. Or ignore it. Or start your own thread. Or do nothing. No one is forcing you to do anything you don't want to do.

In my opinion, this is over policing-moderation. You'll lose a lot of posters this way.

One can understand the reaction of many people here, even if one doesn't entirely condone it.

Clay Death, I really hope you don't leave these boards. Granted, I rarely ever agree with you when it comes to Nadal or views in general but you are a cool dude and I appreciate your passion about the sport. You make tennisfrontier a lot more interesting. I hope you stay!

OK, this is now re-opened.

A few points, and this isn't a lecture just a view based on feedback from various parties.

1. Moderation: The stuff about discussing other forums was originally put in place to prevent an escalation of some bad blood that had transferred over from another board between posters.
As long as the board rules are followed then there is no issue with that that any longer.

Moderation will be based on the following only:

- No personal attacks on fellow posters.
- No racist or homophobic language.

That's largely it.

2. Choice. As raised in feedback, People don't need to post in here if they find certain talk boring (i.e. of other boards that they have no knowledge of). So with that in mind, there is an alternative Chat thread - The Frontier Bar, should they wish to chat but not necessarily engage in the discussions formed here.

3. Mods. Moderation will now be limited to the above light touch and it will be across the site in general. There won't be any individual moderators for specific forums, just global mods to ensure consistency with the light handed moderation policy in general.

4. The Castle is a forum thread on the Tennis Frontier board, it's not owned by a specific group of posters, it's inclusive and available to any poster who registers with this site.

5. If you have issues with the board/mods/admins, please raise them with us first. It's an open door.

I haven't really been around when the issue happened but I guess it's all cleared out now.


What I like to say is that Clay Death old pal, you should ease down with your temper and not run away with the first "attack" that you get but on the other hand it's not really nice of the others to "attack" him and disrespect him here while all he does and has ever done is in benefit of this forum. Also how can you guys come up with a rule "you are not allowed to discuss other forums" what kinda propaganda is that?
