The favorite her is Aggie. I'll be surprised if she lost.
Hampton got the #4 seed?
Good for her, she gets first round bye, must be first for her.

I agree. I'm going with Radwanska, too. I'd love to see her get some momentum going heading into the USO. I know Wimbledon was a huge disappointment, but I hope she puts that out of her mind, and moves forward.

Coco is defending finalist points ...if she doesnt go far her ranking will be around 400s.Its time for USTA to cut her loose like they did to Donald Young, she gets WC after WC and never progresses beyond first rd.Coco and Oudin are disappointing...USTA sould give wcs to the likes of Townsend and Duval...

Good point. Young and Oudin are terrific examples of players who have been very disappointing, after first showing some potential (especially Young). I agree that it isn't fair to keep giving them wildcards, when there are others who are more deserving. If they make it through the qualification rounds, then they will have earned entry, but don't give them wildcards.

Tossip,

I AM a legendary Venus fan, and proud of it. She is amazing and has had a wonderful career before her auto-immune disease zapped her strength. You can't argue with 7 Singles Slams, 13 Doubles Slams, 2 Mixed Doubles Slams, and 4 Olympic Gold Medals and YECs!! :clap She deserves respect and admiration!! I know you're not comparing Sloane's career to hers?!? That's nonsense and laughable as Sloane has zero (0) titles!!

Now for Monfils .. I wish him the best!! Gustavo is my all-time fav ATPer!!

Did you see the ESPN documentary? I thought it was awesome. Inspiring and touching. She truly is amazing, both on and off court.

We have a separate thread for it ...

... but I wanted to mention it here anyway.

I will never put Sloane in the same conversation as Queen Vee the Legend, she has not earned the stripes.Vee has the Midas touch...look at WTT Kastles going undefeated, equal prize money, prime time tennis at the USA Open...

Big time! I thought for sure she would make the 3rd round.

Here are the scores:
TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2013

SECOND ROUND

FIRST ROUND
[6] Varvara Lepchenko (USA) d Michelle Larcher De Brito (POR) | 6 - 2 | 6 - 4 |
Tamira Paszek (AUT) d Alla Kudryavtseva (RUS) | 6 - 1 | 6 - 7 (7) | 3 - 0 |

U-Rad had easy time against McHale, I thought it would be tougher.

She is so unpredictable -- she can show up at a tournament and win it, or show up and lose in the first round. As tossip referred to on the previous page, it's a question of her mental game more than anything else. I agree.

What tournaments has she showed up at and won?
