I don't think Serena played in Stanford, did she?
:(

Nope! Radwanska was the #1 seed! Serena played in Europe on clay and at 32, it wouldn't have made sense for her to travel half way around the world to play that event in California!

Then why don't we start a thread to discuss Serena's Tennis IQ! Or Aggie's for that fact...

This thread is now way off mark!

If her IQ is so high, why does she get into battles with players we don't even know? Please spare us all this intelligence quotient on the court concerning Serena! She's so much better athletically, why 3 sets against anyone; esp. Radwanska on grass? How does that happen unless you're mindlessly wandering around the court, commiting UFE after UFE for no good reason?

You are kidding when you ask that question....Right? Please tell me you are. If Aggie has such a high tennis IQ why the heck hasn't she won a major yet. And what happened yesterday....See two can play the same game. Remember Serena has 16 majors plus doubles and 4 Gold medals plus many more. Apparently you have not watch many of Serena's matches. "Why 3 sets" that is such a stupid questions:s

You must have me mixed up with someone else! I never said Aza had a high IQ on court! She's one of those mindless players who just bash the ball as far as I'm concerned! She scares players more with all the noises coming out of her for the simplest of shots; including drops! It's unwatchable for the most part! Most of the ladies do it and I've been wondering when the WTA is going to start cracking down on all that stuff on court? It's all been a pipedream saying it's being "grandfathered" in with the new and younger players! Total BS so far; getting worse from what I can tell! Sciavone, Aza, Sharapova, and so many more need mufflers on their mouthes!

Fiero,

Special didn't say anything about Aza (aka Vika), she clearly wrote Aggie. You mixed up the names and told her you didn't say anything about Aza (see above)!!

Gheez!!

What happened to Sam?? She got dusted!!
Big time! I thought for sure she would make the 3rd round.

She is so unpredictable -- she can show up at a tournament and win it, or show up and lose in the first round. As tossip referred to on the previous page, it's a question of her mental game more than anything else. I agree.

What tournaments has she showed up at and won?

Carlsbad. ;)

Right...because playing in over 250 tournies in your career and winning a total of 4 is showing up and winning tournaments on the regular.:laydownlaughing

Let me put it this way, Carlsbad and her overall record doesn't reflect she's the type that come lose in the first round one week and win a tournament the next.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Of course. But that still doesn't negate the fact that she can show up and crash out in the first round, or win. She's capable of both. That was the whole point. There was never any mention of regularity.

To be honest, that makes her no different than anyone in the top 30 or 40, and her record reflects she isn't that player capable of doing both, and the comment she is able to do that gives the impression that she has done it on the regular, which she hasn't.

4 wins out of over 250 tournaments speaks to the contrary.

Bingo!

She just did.

Look, we both know she's not going to have the kind of career which would put her in a GOAT conversation. However, she's also not a player who has never won a title, and she has won a Grand Slam. And she has also crashed out in the first round. This was my whole point from the beginning. My comment on her was, if nothing else, a funny coincidence. It's not like I sit here and predict she's going to be the winner at the beginning of every tournament.
