Good morning ya'll! I see some more interesting stuff happened over yonder in Yooroppa while I slumbered.

Nishikori struggled through that first match. I'm starting to wonder if there is another breakdown coming. Love Nishikori but he is so fraaaaaaaagile. Hope not though. The guy has a great chance to rack up some more rankings points n the next few weeks.

That was some flame-out by Dimitrov is seems. I'll have to watch the match later. F3 is playing his home Masters so you know he's fired up and maybe he's more focused than usual. But a 3-set bagel is not what Dimitrov should be doing. He should listen to nemeth's suggestions.

F3 vs. Berdych should be very interesting. Berdych's run of 10-straight QF or better finishes could be in danger.

Disappointed that Tsonga lost so early. Maybe he will be running on all cylinders by the time the U.S. Open series comes around. I really hope he's not done yet.

Did Federer play that badly? I'll have to watch this match too. But I feel Federer's got a good run in a clay tournament before we move on to grass. One thing I don't want to see is a Fed-Rafa clay court match though. Gives me indigestion.

So we have:
Isner vs. Nadal. This could be very interesting.
Ferrer My Ferrer should get through ok.
Murray shouldn't have too much trouble with Goffin.
I don't see Federer losing to Neo, but guaranteeing a Federer or Nadal victory is dangerous these days.

Took me a moment, but I got it finally! Good one! :ras: More than you'll ever know when it comes to guaranteeing matches! This had to happen sooner or later; unprecedented losses by our faves! Even with Rafa's stellar record at the FO, he's been struggling of late, even on clay! Those Wimbledon early exits should have been scrutinized more! Most thinking it just an aberration, but the players taking him out? OMG! :cover :puzzled :nono - Both Roger and Rafa are a step slower; we know it, but expect them to be in the semi each major tournament! That streak has to come to a halt and I see it only getting uglier this season; Roger needing to push himself to get through early rounds in Masters! :nono  :dodgy:

...well, if the highlights are not completely misleading, Federer did play quite well (and the match stats seem to indicate that).

To play against Isner is a puzzle but I have the confidence that Rafa will resolve it ;) :plot

Saw the entire match apart from the first three games. Very solid performance indeed from Nadal. The only help he got was from Isner's UFE's, which were a bit too much, but maybe that was part of his game plan (I mean, go for it full time).

Murray pulls out of #RomeMasters "I feel very tired, very flat. Hope to get to Paris better next week"

For the best I guess. Still disappointing.

Well Isner was very shaky so I will wait at least until the semis (if he gets there) to estimate his current level, however, he was in way better rhythm here than in Madrid. It was a hot sunny day and the conditions suited him. Playing a night match early on would be problematic to say the least.

I haven't seen the match but I've read that Rafa has made 0 UFE which is a good sign and more playing against Isner and his torpedos serves ;)
Meanwhile Muzz says that he is feeling very tired after to win 10 matches in a row and he needs to rest and to sleep more...:plot:smooch

Roger making more backhand than forehand winners again. He is playing quite well but he isn't so sharp at the net and someone quicker would pass him quite a few times. I guess it's because he hasn't played so many net points recently. And I forgot to add, he is serving just fine.
