Heck.. I want a bigger payback for my $100.. Maybe I can create a rumor that Rudd was resident at Maralago and the Feds are monitoring his association with #45
This is way too much of a US resident joke, I had to google it :). Last year final odds were closer to your expectation, but there's no way you would put a single buck on Ruud. Ruud said on the court interview today that he will be smiling in the final, that sounds like he already capitulated.

It's used as an excuse to hate on the guy, but he was establ. yrs before starting that practice! He had multiple league MVP's & hitting titles! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
Excuse? Of course you have a massive advantage in barringpower when you triple in size!
Maybe I will take a $100 to bet on Rudd and if Novak's injury flares up again.. I should win what 2000(Rudd has got to be a 20-1 underdog..? )
Outright odds before the tournament began would have had Ruud high enough. Not at this stage though. I just checked a few sites and many have Ruud at 7/2 so for $100 you'd get back $450.

Look at the dates! He didn't start doing the Steroid thing until he was old and almost out of the game! He was jealous of McGuire & Sosa's notoriety who also got caught w/ PE's and were drummed out of Baseball! Those are facts! Bonds missed out on a couple league MVP's due to "writers" just hating his guts! He was a great player before steroids and was even bigger (no pun intended) after he started in the late 90's! On ESPN, they broke into other games to show his "at bats" even though they suspected him of taking PE's! He truly was must see TV in 2000-01 making his World Series appearance! He was someone that was walked even w/ no one on base! He was walked w/ the bases loaded which hadn't been done in over 40 years! He was feared and hated at the same time! :face-with-tears-of-joy: :fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
The PTB of major league baseball knew damn well that McGuire & Sosa were “legally” juiced & did not care as it brought in $$$$, I would go as far as as to say they tacitly approved & encouraged it for the players.

When it all was revealed later the pearl clutching from the Commissioner & the owners was pathetic and so self serving. Steroids in Casablanca ??!!

I’m curious as to who the crowd will back.

It would make sense to cheer on Novak because he's making history breaking the Major's record held by Rafa for about a min. last season! I've been saying Nole won just about everything in bunches in record time making Fedal look like grumpy old men hanging on trying to protect their turf! Federer was praised for overtaking Sampras in less than 9 years taking Wimbledon in 2009 to make 15! Novak only had 1 at the time from '08 AO! He went on a run for the ages taking 3 majors in 2011, then again in 2015, & one more time in 2021 zipping past Federer's 20! He's overtaken both Fedal in many of records thought to stand for years to come! He has them all now; esp. if he wins this 3rd FO! His haters may stop watching tennis for a while; they can't stand it! I understand! The tennis intelligentsia had proclaimed them Gods, put on a golden pedestal and Novak still overtook them in record time! :face-with-head-bandage: :face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Alcaraz said 'he never felt as tense as he did in the SF' against Novak, so to me it wasnt a physical issue the reason for him cramping, it was stress/mental issue, he will learn from this going forward, those first 2 sets, were just off the charts from both players

He did look tight in the 1st set and was way less calm than usual. Kudos to Novak who made him feel more stressed with his level of play. Novak was calmer player today considering he is the grumpy one. Experience played a big roll today.

Novak made a big statement in that first set, he played flawless tennis, agree he was calmer, experience showed, Alcaraz must have thought gee how am I suppose to respond to that kind of tennis

Carlos didnt play with his a CALM today.. I could see it in his decision making during a lot of the rallies.. He was swinging to hit through the wall of Novak when all what needed was just to hit the ball to the open court

Until his injury, I always thought Zverev was one of the better ROS guys on the tour, whereas thats a decided weakness of Tsitspas game.
So then you don't agree with Davydenko?

Players know they need more than just play consistently! They tend to feel they need to hit something spectacular & a lot of the time it's true! :fearful-face:

For Alcaraz' sake even though it was cramp and not an injury, I hope he didn't end up doing some damage by not retiring. He truly fucked over the betting markets (if he retired then match bets today and outrights would have been voided and money returned except for eg Betfair) and may have fucked himself up too!

I’m not following you, my take on Davydenko's assesment is that this younger ( than Rafa & Novak) generation hasn't worked on their technical deficiencies to get better overall. That is why Rafa/Novak have held on so long.

Relatively speaking, its a matter of degree since both crown princes have sound games. Yet analyzing in the stratosphere level of top tennis; against Rafa/Novak you can’t afford to have glaring gaps in your game or they will exploit them.

Tsitsipas & Zverev have different technical deficiencies, but overall Zverev is a more a defensive player whereas Tsits is more an offense/agressive.

Because Novak was in his face from the start of the match? Novak had to win that 1st set and he played flawless tennis, Alcaraz started playing panic tennis, kudos to Novak,

I think it's a bit early to worry about serious damage from cramps. It's something his team needs to address asap, though.

It's hard to feel sorry for people who bet on a tennis match and lost. Gambling means, well, you're taking a risk. Carlos did the right and honorable thing by seeing such an important match out. If he had considered for one second what happened to the gamblers when deciding what to do in that match, wouldn't he get a fine and a ban?

Nah he aight. If he had another set he most likely could have had a decent recovery from the nerves cramps..I'm surprised he didn't rehydrate when Novak's bathroom break. Carlos should have went to the locker room to take a quick cool shower and change of clothing..He will learn.

Look it was a hot day, players should start hydrating the night before a match, then take enough water and salt during a match
