Hardly! My reaction seems smug only to Novak's haters! When have I ever disappeared? Have no other life than educate & keep fans on an = keel!
Your reaction is fanboy, but that’s fair enough. You’re a Djoker fan. A good one though. I know your reasons are good..

Thats why I admire Alcaraz, he is mature beyond his age of 20, a good thoughtful response.
He’s got Spanish class. Djoker roaring when his opponent was prone was both shocking and unsurprising. Djokovic seems to think that all ailments are a game - like his own are. That’s why he thought nothing of insulting his opponent. He thought the injury was like his hamstring, his elbow, his wrist - a fake, a plot twist, a deception that’s all part of the game..

I keep telling you guys, Novak isn't my favorite player! I'm just backing him to the hilt due to inequitable treatment by all concerned! I love that he's breaking all the records set by Fedal due to the tennis intelligentsia putting them on a pedestal that makes it seem tennis begins and ends w/ them! For the women it was the same directive in my mind when Martina was so abused by the powers that be! I recall that w/ all her records, YE #1's, and prowess in Doubles, she didn't get a Nat'l commercial here in the States until she was approaching 50! I didn't want the Sports powers to be so happy w/ little Chrissie as their fave w/o getting bruised a little by the abilities and record of Martina! Fortunately she grew into being the best; same as Novak, but neither are my top faves! For men it's Borg, Sampras, & Edberg! Lendl gets an honorble mention holding McEnroe and Connors at bay! Back in the day, my faves were Evonne Goolagong, Virgina Wade, & Margaret Court! Henin & Hingis get an honorable mention holding off The Williams sisters with how the world were slobbering all over them! END RANT! :face-with-tears-of-joy: :face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face:

OMG, you're starting to sound like another special mental case on the board! You're grasping at straws trying to undermine this man's victory! He was only acting out as much as Carlos who was exaulting the crowd for support when he did something great! I'm shocked you've gone this route when we all know Novak is probably the most displomatic when it comes to his competition! He gives them huge props, commiserates if they lose to him, and embraces the ones who defeat him! Come on; you're better than that! :face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face:

Hola, todos!

I just want to say some things:

Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune have something in common (a problem but a manageable problem): Both are very talented and young, however, both players are susceptible to body cramps or leg cramps. The great thing about their problem is that it is manageable AND they are both 20y old, so they have ample of time to fix it! Interestingly enough, the way they will handle the cramping problem is slightly different. For Rune, he obviously still growing to his body, so he might have to wait a while before his body is fully developed. One thing he should tweak though is the amount of tournaments he is playing. While he is young and energetic, he needs to schedule smarter. With his current physical "problems" he can't afford to play a lot of tournaments AND still physically grow. He needs to allow his body to rest once in a while.

For Alcaraz, it is somewhat the opposite. His body is almost fully developed, so he can technically play a lot of tournaments. But the way he plays during his matches/tournament can be detrimental to his physical body sometimes. Instead of him playing at full speed all the time, he should lower the gear once in a while so his body is able to "rest" during the matches. Other than that, he should be fine, physically, in my opinion.

Now as for technical shots, I do think Alcaraz should develop some time of slice BH in his repertoire. The reason I say this is because while his BH good (sometimes very good), it tends to “break down.” That’s what Andy Murray did to his BH. His BH is amazing, but the added slice just gave him more dimensions. And the thing about Alcaraz’s BH is that it is not bad, BUT, it is not Djokovic, Murray, Med and Sinner in which can not be broken easily. Even Rune started to add some BH slice on his repertoire. The great thing about Alcaraz though is that he has a great feel already (FH and BH dropshots are amazing). He just needs to execute and be confident on using the slices more.

Buddy, Carlos ‘exalting’ when they’re both fit and competitive is different to Novak exalting when his opponent is ailing and can’t compete. Don’t give me Novak as honest soldier, we know better. When zverev hurt himself last year, Rafa didn’t celebrate. Novak cheering when his opponent was prone was what we’d expect from him - but don’t ask us not to react to that.

And by the way, I said Novak was favourite to win this match, before it happened. I gave good reasons, I think, so it’s not like I’m shocked he’s in the final. It was shaping up to be a great match until Carlos hit the buffers. I just get a little irritated by the dishonesty of Djokolytes defending the worst of him, which can tend to be really bad…

By the way, @Fiero425 - I “laugh” At your posts because I love them, not because I want to disrespect them. I love your rants and your passion! They’re amusing and fantastic. You’re a real fan!

Nobody buys this story any more. Backing him for breaking up the hegemony of Fedal is really old news. If you were agnostic about Djokovic, beyond sticking it up the nose to some perceived hierarchy, you wouldn't defend him so passionately, and certainly not at this point, way down the road. Just admit it...you're a fan!

You should also remember that you are an admitted Nadal hater, so it's tiresome for you to crab so much about the Djokovic haters. Seriously, you profess strong hatred for Nadal, and yet, if the rest of us even criticize Novak, or suggestion that someone might beat him, we're "hatahs." Check your hypocrisy at the door.

Ok, but aren’t you splitting hairs here? he’s obviously your favorite ACTIVE player…never actually seen you post hoping any of the current ATP roster beat Novak in a match.

I mean, c’mmon I love Borg too, but i havent been able to cheer him in a match for 30+ years. ; )

Carlos is young, he’s advanced. He’s probably the best we’ve seen at his age. He’ll learn. There’s no shame in anything he did today. He’s a great kid…
I never said there was shame in what he did today, I was just pointing out a fact regarding players, if they know their match is going to be hot, it is up to them to take the necessary steps before their match.Carlos is a favorite of mine, the young man is 'special' I have always said that and anyone just has to watch him on court, he is a pleasure to watch period.

It must be difficult to admit you’re a Novak fan. Come on @Fiero425 his reputation isn’t that bad! :lol6:
