I understand that RB. But even when a ball is called good on Hawkeye it's still up to the discretion of the umpire, whether the player had a play on the ball or not. That's where human error can occur, like it did here.

What call are you talking about? I am talking about last point of set 2. She made her play, and it was an error. After the error, the lines-person called it out azarenka's shot that serena committed the error on. Then the ump overturned it and made them replay the point. Since, serena hit the ball before the call, there was no need to replay.
But they did replay it instead of giving the point to Vika. That's my point about human error.

Gotcha

Really nice toughing it out from Serena. She should have less problems with Sloane.

Now that wasn't a cheerful handshake at the net. Unlike Madrid where they actually had a little chat

6-0 is a bagel, and 6-1 is a breadstick. But I think we need a name for when someone is up at least 2-0, and their opponent proceeds to win six games in a row.

But it didn't seem antagonistic, either. Just quick and perfunctory. They seemed respectful of each other, while also silently acknowledging this wasn't a time for a chat.

She has some tricky people on her side of the draw still. Safarova and Muguruza and even Penneta.

I know she does, as Serena still has Sloane and possibly Petra. But you know Maria always plays better when Serena is out of the draw.

I don't want Vika to be discouraged. This is the way she has to play. She just needs to keep her foot on the pedal and be ready when a player raises their level.

It is a shame this could not have been a QF or SF as it should have been. Vika needs to play more tournaments and get that ranking up.

I want her to play more. I hope she plays something like Stanford. A win at a smaller tournament could encourage her. She keeps only playing the big ones and faces a high seed early.
