The only thing I could find of Verdasco's match with Dimitrov was a short less than 2 minutes highlights. I've tried to find post match interviews, but I've found only Dimitrov's answers mentioned in random articles on the internet. Grigor didn't praise Fernando at all, but instead he blamed his poor clay game for his loss. On the other hand, i wouldn't be surprised to see Verdasco playing better than ever this year, like it happened to Bautista in his last match with Nole.
You can't blame them if they smell blood in the water. And both have clay chops. I don't think Verdasco is going to play better than ever. It's just that you never know when his A-game shows up. His A-game could beat Djokovic, if Nole doesn't bring a good one. We'll see who shows up and in what form. As for Dimitrov, lots of commies picked him to lose early. And he's a wimp.

Tomorrow there are very interesting matches because it's difficult to picture who is going to win, I see a very tie results, 4 to 5 sets.
Meanwhile Annacone says how many different ways Nadal has playing to make very uncomfortable his opponents, he is so right!

I guess it would depend on what makes it boring for you. Surely Rafa being a heavy favorite squelches your interest. But if you leave Rafa aside, hasn't it been a much more jumbled and unpredictable RG than, say, when the big 4 all made the semis, predictably? You have LL's going past the first round, Zverev dealing with multiple 5-setters, the rise of Marterer and Cecchinato. Goffin v. Monfils today was entertaining. Tsitsipas staking his claim as a comer. JMDP looking like he's back? Is that more boring to you than the predictable 4-6 making the final rounds?

The German Barterer (21 years old) looks very good and strong. He beat Verdasco in the last AO

Since he and Nadal have never played, it will be interesting. I think Marterer is a lefty. And he'll have the impetuousness of youth.

Was last years edition any more exciting?

At least Djokovic and Delpo are still in the draw.
I'd argue it was less exciting. Let's face it. Federer fans are mostly bored because Roger isn't playing, and because Rafa is the favorite to win. I still think this tournament has a lot to tell us about the state of men's tennis, though. And even if Rafa does win.

First week has been a bit dull with the exception of Zverev's matches, except even those aren't even that surprising considering he seems to do this every major.

That said, I actually think Nadal's second week, starting with the quarter finals, won't be THAT straightforward. Schwartzman won't beat him, obviously, but he won't go down easily, and I think the semis will be more intriguing than people seem to be suggesting. Both Cilic and DelPo are good semi final opponents. One of Thiem, Zverev (unlikely) or Djokovic (very possible) will be in the final so at least there's that to look forward to.

Besides of his youth he hits the ball very strong and of course he will try to play very aggressive and taking a lot of risk which sometimes works well or not, maybe it will be a tough match for Rafa or maybe not

I agree that going forward for Nadal is not a gimme. I still think that the only one that takes him down would be a Djokovic fully renewed.

Sí, felicidades, Rafa! TTC gave him a reel and rod for his birthday. They asked him how to say "eleventh" in Spanish. He said, "Undécima, but I don't want to talk about that."

I don’t blame him, he likes to go day by day, match by match
