I saw he was in the fourth round, but I don't know who he is.

He is one of the few guys who actually won a clay title this year. I thought it was more of an aberration and explicitly banned him from my dangerous floaters list. But, he is backing it up.

I will try to watch him tomorrow if I can.

I am giving Gasquet 7 games today. Feeling generous.

Khachenov is about to 'upset' Pouille. Goffin Monfils is also a good one and F3 v Edmund. Isner is still in the tournament too I assume everyone is skipping that one.

the Fog beat Edmund in 5
That was probably the toughest R3 match.
They are both top 20 players and it really sucks to meet someone ranked as high in the first week in a slam.

I checked Cecchinato's record, he actually has a win over Thiem on clay in a Challenger final 5 years ago.
He won this year his first ATP title on clay and he has won 3 challengers also on clay and 6 futures you guessed also on clay.

Marterer defeats easily Zopp and makes his first R4 in a slam.
He is one of the steady climbers in the top 100, getting now into the top 50 after he broke into the top 100 last November.
He most likely will be one the familiar names in the future.

I think Monfils vs Goffin was the toughest 3rd round contest

I don't know. Monfils as of late was really doing nothing on tour.
Of course he had been tough on clay but he did nothing in sometime.

Same ole Monfils,,he just blew 4 MPs but Obi Wan was on serve.. Monfils is battling a sinus infection or cold but he is still not in great fitness conditioning.. IDK what type of training regimens he has but it needs to be abandoned..probably should’ve happened 12 years ago, IMO

Nole’s Spanish saga continues with the last match today on Chatrier. I am not happy with that, because I know that Nole doesn’t like playing in dusk in Paris. Hopefully, Nishikori and Thiem will play a record long match, so fingers crossed Nole gets rescheduled to some less busy court at earlier time.

Interestingly, Nole and Verdasco are the lowest ranked seeds remained in the draw.

Given that Novak and Fernando are both extremely talented and unpredictable at this particular stage in their careers, this one could go either way, though on paper it should go to Djokovic. Realistically, all of the matches tomorrow could be interesting. Thiem v. Nishikori, Khachanov v. Zverev, and even Goffin v. Cecchinato. I don't think anyone has a bead on that Italian, yet.

The only thing I could find of Verdasco's match with Dimitrov was a short less than 2 minutes highlights. I've tried to find post match interviews, but I've found only Dimitrov's answers mentioned in random articles on the internet. Grigor didn't praise Fernando at all, but instead he blamed his poor clay game for his loss. On the other hand, i wouldn't be surprised to see Verdasco playing better than ever this year, like it happened to Bautista in his last match with Nole.
