I wouldn't consider this much of an upset. Some people act like they haven't seen Nole play the last two years.

Before the match Novak was listed third favorite for the title in Paris by the bookies. It is also not like RBA has been winning slams himself the past two years. So it would be considered an upset in my view. At the same time, I concede that I am not confident anymore when watching Novak's matches.

An upset for sure but not a huge one. I mean RBA may be the best player Nole has beaten at a slam since the start of 2017 as crazy as that sounds.

Agreed. It's time to turn the tide.

Honestly, I think he should still reach the finals, but I have my doubts whether he can make it competitive against Nadal. I hope so.

Darth has warned us all about the so called baby Fed.. Maybe its time to remove that name because Grigor isnt worthy
I have nothing to remove as I never adopted that name. It was silly in the first place, not just worthless.

Well IMO, Grigor is still "Baby Fed;" more to do with style, not the performance! If I don't have my glasses on and look up at the screen, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Fed and Grigor due to the exact impersonation being done by him! When learning the game, that's how I trained; using the style of a person I enjoyed watching! I even went to Virginia Wade's odd service motion for a while after she won Wimbledon back in '77! I had a pretty good serve already, so fooling around with it a little didn't hurt! Used many different players from the men and women's tours including hitting the service toss on the way up like Roscoe Tanner! Grigor has taken it to another level where he's even modeled his gait around the court to Roger's! :yesyes: :cuckoo:

Who would ever say that a guy who had only one top 30 win all year long and whose mother died several days ago, can stay focused to play 4 long sets with in form Nole. Luckily, he didn't catch Nole in surprise. Next is Verdasco who upset Dimitrov. (Nole has already given an interview in Serbian for Bulgarian TV which they did a couple of days ago in anticipation of the 4th round match with Grigor) I don't think Nole is happy with this, because he has never had problem beating Dimitrov, except that one time in Madrid, while Verdasco beat him 4 times, although last time in 2010. I hope Nole will be fully focused and won't need to play long to beat Verdasco.

Zverev seems fatal for Belgradians in this slam. He beat two of them in 5 sets, even though both should have beat him. Nole will have to revenge them. ;)

Nole's press conference was interrupted by another one of his ex girlfriends. This time Polish one and I don't know why I can't find video of it on youtube.

The most impressive thing of this slam for my offspring is that Wawrinka will fall out of top 250. Who'd ever say his girlfriend would have better ranking than him.

DIdn't I tell you that Verdasco would take care of Dimitrov? Tough call is who is going to be the more mental between him and Verdasco, and who's going to DF at the worst moment? Sorry...I also told you that Verdasco won't make it two in a row.

Djokovic's ex-girlfriends? I thought Jelena was his high school sweetheart. Dirt? Do dish!

Novak has exceeded 100 million dollars in prize money alone. Why can't he pay off $130,000 to all his ex girlfriends and ask them to keep quiet. As long as there are less than 770 of them, he still comes out ahead.

.

Don't worry. I don't think Verdasco is capable of following up an upset with winning a match that he is supposed to win, let alone causing an upset in the next match.

Verdasco took out Rafa in the first round of AO recently and then promptly exited in the second round.

The more money you have, the more you think it's incumbent to hoard it! These idiot athletes are all cheapskates! How many would rather protect themselves over hiring security? I can tell you tales of how that backfired and cost them dearly! :nono: :banghead: :cuckoo:

They broke up for couple of years around 2008. You remember he was with Leryn Franco during the Olympics in Beijing. She didn't want him later because he wasn't Catholic. Polish girl obviously didn't mind at the time. ;)

Yeah, I never get the tax evasion thing. Perhaps Monaco is better living, I could see that, Cote d'Azur is really nice especially if you can afford it.

What is up with RBA? Why would Nole feel sorry for him?

@britbox posted a video by Pierce Morgan about Monte Carlo. I think it is still in the thread. It does look like a place for young or middle aged billionaires willing to enjoy their wealth. I don't think it is for children. It is also very Western which is not always to either Jelena's or Nole's taste.

RBA's mother died couple of days ago. She also took care of his father who is in wheelchair. RBA is their only son and it all makes you wonder about whole situation. Nole also considers RBA a friend.

The only thing which is identical between Roger and Grigor is the service motion. That I will admit.
But the rest, sorry, not true.

You presume way too much on the rest of us to know about Leryn Franco. Good gossip, though.

Did you watch Verdasco in the match against Dimitrov? I've read an opinion that he was lethal.

I've seen a vid Novak dancing some kind of "salsa" after to beat Bautista so I don't think he felt sorry for his 'friend'.......
