How predictable is this tournament?
It depends on who is making the prediction!
How predictable is this tournament?
Nadal - Carreno Busta: Duh.
Why do you dislike Patrick McEnroe? Not me .no Patrick McEnroe
Why do you dislike Patrick McEnroe?
These TV pundits all have their favorite tennis players. I think John NcEnrie likes Nadal. For years, he has called Nadal the greatest, but sometimes he likes to say that Nadal/Federer are the two greatest players. It's hard to know where John's position is really, but Patrick is clear on who his favorite is.Probably 'cos he's a massive Federer fan Just a hunch.
I don't understand the little consideration to Carreño in clay when he is the 10 better player in that surface and the way he is playing now I don't think that Nishi or Cilic could hurt him. Nishi today had beaten a player who has played like a chicken without head and Cilic maybe in 'juniors' was good but later I haven't seen him to do anything special in clay. Pablo has beaten Raonic who is ranked #6 and for some of you is one of the best so I do think he (Pablo) deserves as credit as the others and could be as dangerous as the others
He is 25 years old and maybe he has not won a single important clay tournament (Thiem neither until Roma ) but he is playing very good and improving a lot. Everybody were talking and talking about Thiem and Zverev even without have won anything, and Kyrgios, Raonic, Nishi.....and? I agree he probably is not going to give Rafa an ounce of trauble but the way Rafa is playing now Thiem either. I tell you from now if Pablo gets more and more confidence he could be a tough opponent for those young "gens"Maybe because he's never made it past the 2R of Roland Garros (until this year), or the 3R of a Slam. Maybe because he's never made it past the 3R of a clay Masters, and only once on hard (IW this year). He's only ever won a single clay tournament, Estoril this year, which is an ATP 250. Until he proves otherwise, he's a solid "third tier" player - someone who ranks in the #15-40ish range.
I like PCB, but he's not going to give Rafa an ounce of trouble.
Yeah, Thiem won the final vs Pablo 7-5 6-4 and he has some more small titles, of course Roma has been the best, but my point is let's go to see from here to one more year, maybe I'm wrong but like I said before Carreño could be a tough contender^I agree PCB is on an improving curve, but Thiem is on another league. He had the Rio ATP 500 on his CV before Rome (won by Zverev not him).
73 seconds? when? and what's the problem and difference to play in Lenglen or in the Chartrier if they always are playing by turns in both Stadiums?Umpire Ramos proved to be correct for warning Nadal on some of his 73 seconds services. He won't referee for Rafa again. Will anyone dare to warn Nadal again?
Carole Bouchard wrote in her book that last year Vajda had argument with the tournament director when he learned Nole was scheduled to play against Thiem at Suzan Lenglen. They will play there again, there is just no one to fight Guy Forget.

I doubt Carlos Ramos won't referee for Rafa again because after the match Rafa did retract and said it was just one moment of obfuscation but he didn't have anything against him
I was thinking about this today. This always seems to happen with Stan and his Grand Slam wins....probably because he goes to sleep the rest of the year and people forget about his game. The tennis channel was showing an excerpt over the weekend from players pressers.
Stan was asked: Everyone is talking about Nadal, Djokovic and other players in regards to winning this title. Have you noticed no one is talking about you?
His answer: I don't care if no one is talking about me, I know what I can do.
He moves into the QF after a straight set win over Le Monf.
It suits some players to "fly under the radar." I think it's silly to think that Wawrinka is really, though. He comes in as a bit of an unknown commodity, because he's so streaky. But when he plays this well, and this late into a Major, I don't think anyone is ignoring him. Some pundits are still saying that Novak is the biggest threat to Rafa. I think they say it because he's beaten Nadal here. But, based on current form, I'd say Stan first and Thiem second.I was thinking about this today. This always seems to happen with Stan and his Grand Slam wins....probably because he goes to sleep the rest of the year and people forget about his game.
