Yeah, I was mostly kidding about Coric - and agree he is more formidable than Polansky. Coric has been stagnant for about two years now, with little to no sign of improvement. That said, I do think he'll take a step forward at some point, but will probably be no better than something like David Goffin. I suppose there's a slim chance that, in a best-case scenario, he turns into David Ferrer. Nothing to be ashamed of. But I still see a #15-30 type as being more likely.

Well said on Thiem. When I've seen him play, he looks like he still has another level he can reach, if he's more consistent. But given that he's almost 24, I'm not sure this is going to change.
I actually see Thiem as a top 10 regular, when the Golden Age is done, and even sooner. We can keep comparing him to other people, which is only partly fair. But if he's a Berych/Ferrer type and level, and I think he is, mostly, he's going to probably come to peak in a better circumstance than they had. Which is why I do think he could win a RG.

Nadal's #1 is pretty much guaranteed .
I almost want Farquaad to win his first and probably only match against Roger but probably will not happen.
Milos was uber disappointing.
What the hell happened to Milos? And no, Ferrer is not beating Federer.

And Rafa mirrors it, 6-1, 6-2, though over a more formidable opponent.

Lately you´ve been seeing Fedal wars just anywhere you look... the last installment is the glorious Battle of Coransky.

Battle of Coransky? I've googled, but you're going to have to enlighten me.

Did I invent the Fedal wars? And has it escaped your notice that 2017 is going to come down to Rafa v. Roger? That's a given. I'm just trying to hold up my end for the Nadal side. You Feddies seem to be doing just fine, for yourselves. :D

Rafa has a tough road.

2nd R - Borna Coric (a guy with a winning record against Rafa although most of the wins are when Rafa was compromised).
3rd R - JMDP (has beaten Rafa even when Rafa was not compromised)
QF - Milos (with local crowd behind him)
SF - Sasha (with momentum)
F - RF (need I say anything)
And Milos bites the dust.

If you google Fedal maybe you get Federer and Nadal, but you don´t get Coric and Polansky just yet for Coransky.

P.S. Nadal´s draw is 242434 times harder.

You are hilariously obtuse. Rafa's draw was harder when they drew it. Now it has gotten a lot easier.

Not to be outshone by seeds in Rafa's half, the seeds in Fed's half are also matching in falling down. Kei went down to Clown and Kei was supposed to face Roger in QF. Thiem went down and he was supposed to face Roger in SF. Sock went down to Ferrer and he was supposed to face Roger in the next round. :yahoo:

The stars are aligning for Rafa and Roger to have a last blast as the greatest rivalry in sports. Yes!

Sasha Zverev v Nick Kyrgios has to be the match of the day tomorrow.

I think Nick might take this, especially if Sasha has some foot issues as you said (I did not see his today's match). Nick seems to be in an atoning mood for his sins of tanking (assuming his body cooperates).

I dunno. I think Sasha's issues are a bit over-use and blistery. Nick seems really to have a hip or some more complicated issue. On top of that, he's the guy that last week was telling his mother, from the court, that he didn't want to be there. Whereas Sasha seems prepared to shear off one of his own limbs to win a Major. Down the road, I could be prepared to back Nick in the match-up, on occasion, if he gets his head together. Tomorrow? Not unless Zverev is actually compromised.

We shall see.

I did some arithmetic. You may be right. At least Rafa is in control of his own destiny.

In order to become #1, Roger needs to outperform Rafa by 830 points in Montreal and Cincy put together. Given that winner gets 1000 and runner up gets 600, the difference is only 400. So, Rafa can guarantee his #1 ranking going in to the USO, even if he loses to Roger in the finals of both Montreal and Cincy.

Always a terrible day when Whafa returns to #1. DP's and Raonic's weak asses made a hard draw into a cakewalk yesterday.

I am telling you´re seeing Fedal wars everywhere... I wasn´t being sarcastic. I really think Nadal´s draw was much harder at first and I still think it is a bit harder (even if when I wrote I wasn´t exactly keeping track of the changes). It is not just because we may have an appointment at high noon tomorrow (or Sunday) that we cannot have a civilized drink together today...

Roger struggling on his own serve. Ferrer breaks him after Roger saves six break pts.

Hope, Roger summons TMF soon.

Fed finally breaks back when Ferru was serving for the set. Fed is kind of out of form today. UFE is twice the winners for him.

Hope he rights the ship now.
