Fed's streak of 32 consecutive sets won comes to an end.

After breaking Ferru when Ferru was serving for the set, Fed loses the very next game on his own serve.

Roger looks like not in a mood to play.

Hope he can right the ship and eke out an ugly win at least.

I know Im posting this after the fact but I had a weird feeling about the match. It's pathetic for sure but he's recovered well after his other two shocking losses

This match is really ugly. So many errors and break points.

What goes on? Rain delay? I just got home. Tennis channel is showing an encore doubles match, but live scores make it look like Ferrer/Fed are playing. ??

Fed manages to win the second set. But, still playing quite ugly. Just 50% first serve percentage, got broken once in the second set too.

Hope, he can at least manage to win though.

ESPN starting showing matches live from today. So, just tune into ESPN2 and not to tennis channel.

On one hand it's not a big deal if he loses, on the other hand this may he the easiest path to an MS final I've seen: Polansky, washed up Ferrer, RBA, and then haase/schwartzman

I tried that and still didn't find it, but I have a million ESPN channels, so I'll keep hunting. Thanks!

Ah, the program guide is wrong, and Fed was on a toilet break. Ugly game from Ferrer to give the early break.

Ugly stuff but time to kiss goodbye to Luis Garcia Del Moral's grunting furry ferret at least.

Yeah , so, if Farquaad cannot beat THIS Roger, I guess it was never meant to be...
On the other hand, if Roger had to work so hard against what Ferrer has been for some time now, that's not great for Fed. What I saw, there was a lot of mess and miss. Off day, I guess, but Ferrer still can't beat him.

Not liking the fact he was holding serve like a WTA player and had to go two hours. But hopefully it's a wake up call, he's exposed his hand by playing here (gunning hard for #1) and he couldn't ask for an easier path to the finals.

Roger eked out a win, but need to hit practice instead of attending cold play concerts!

If he plays like today even Diego Shortman will win against Roger.

Nice looking match from Sasha. Kyrgios is clearly not fully fit. Still, entertaining match. Hopefully Nick gets healthy soon.

A little fact I read today: Shapalov is the first teenager to make it to the round of 16 in a MS1000 since his opponent today, Rafa (2004 in Miami.)

Shapovalov is growing in stature as he plays this match. Rafa just got back on serve in the 2nd, but the young Canadian has game and nerve.

Rafa has to stop waiting for Shapovalov to self-emollate. And if he's waiting for errors from the kid, he has to stop committing so many himself.

Better court position for Rafa to force that DF.
