Rafa is playing bad, really bad against Bellucci, his mind is in GM doubles and he needs to be ready and rested but he should play now at least something better, come on! :negative: :-(

DP up an early break, hope that continues. I fully expect Nads to turn around that match but it'd be awesome if he didn't. :lightning:

^ Right on cue. Unfortunately DP couldn't hold the break lead. The first set will be more pivotal for him today after some long 3 setters.

DP righted the ship, won the first set and broke early in the 2nd but it's back on serve at 2-2. Whafa is going to pull through sadly.

That was a hard slog for Rafa. Bellucci was on fire, and the crowd was all over Nadal. His 800th career win. Has not lost an Olympic singles match. ¡Vamos!

Monfils had 3 match points in the TB. Shame that he couldn't pull it off.

Really think Del Potro will crush Rafa. Hope I'm wrong but Nadal hasn't looked good and has played too much already. In a way the doubles final is actually a more important match.

Maybe so. I'll root for Rafa, but it'll be hard to be sad if Juan Martin gets into the final. Nadal has already accomplished what he could have hoped for, and the gold today would be a huge personal victory. And to the point of not looking his best: neither Murray nor Nishikori has.

I am in such a mess with the scheduling... I thought the Doubles final was in a few hours and they are deep in the second set already. I have trouble even tracking what day it is in Rio half the time.

I've found it really hard to find out schedules for Rio. Their website is frankly useless.

Pity they chose not to really bother covering it much on the ATP website because it's an ITF event... the WTA site is providing some reasonable coverage I guess. The TV coverage is pretty lame in Oz and it's difficult to track who has various rights in some other countries. I've hardly seen anything in these Olympics and I usually follow them religously... especially track and field.

I've found this one the hardest ever to follow. In the US, they've spread the coverage across a lot of different channels, which is theoretically good, because you can watch basically all the tennis on Bravo, for example. But it's very confusing. And I agree that the ATP is being petulant to ignore it.

Into the 3rd set in the doubles final. I don't think that favors Lopez/Nadal. Rafa is looking a bit tired.

They didn't show the match, but US (Sock/Johnson) won the bronze! Well-done, boys.

Spain breaks back in the 3rd. 4 all. This is a really fun match. And, no, I don't think Rafa will have anything left for Juan Martin tomorrow.

And Venus and Ram move on in mixed! She's close to a tying a record for most medals in tennis.

OMG, Lopez/Nadal win gold! I was doubting. The Roumanians were really tough. Excellent match.
