I think Lloyd is doing well,he just outline that Novak was positive and then went out 2 days later to a event?
You tell em Stephen
Are you kidding me? I think this guy is a tool. Now I feel like a dick for listening to all of this. They get to "statement of omissions," and no one gets to the omissions and erroneous statements on his visa application. They must have chosen this QC lawyer because he was incompetent. Novak is going to get in, on this ridiculous and preposterous case.

One thing I like about the conventions of Australian courts is that the oppositions refers to each other as "my friend." That's nice. We don't have that here.

It absolutely is, but I've have been listening to all of this, and I know you haven't, and it is looking to me more and more like a joke. To go ONLY on public health risk was a weird roll of the dice. We all thought that there must be something in there about lying on paperwork, etc., but there is nothing.

The government’s case is weak. Novak has played in multiple slams since covid hit, how much unrest has there been? How much of a threat was he? Djokovic’s lawyers poked many holes in government’s case.

i still feel judges may be swayed to deport djokovic as not doing so would make it seem as if djokovic beat australia, a humiliating event. Also, since covid has been such a mess in autralia, politically, not deporting him may make it even messier.

but i think their case is terrible, they basically tossed it to the courts to then put the blame on the court, if courts side with djokovic. They can say ‘we tried, courts over ruled us’. Politics

I'm just saying you said you were going for a run. I take you at your word. ND's lawyers did a lot of work to destroy the proposition that ND presents a public risk. If the government's only argument is public risk, they are on precarious grounds now. I don't know why they don't address discrepancies in his visa application, medical exemption application, and real legal reasons to be in Australia, which look questionable to many. Instead, that poor sweaty fellow Lloyd keeps nattering on about what a public health risk Novak presents. That ship has sailed.

OK, you implied you were taking a break from it, but all good. Yes, he did talk about Novak's behavior in Serbia, but this is all in service to the notion of him as a public health menace. I don't think they are going to win that argument. What about the basic grounds, that everyone could get behind, i.e., that his visa wasn't valid? What about even Novak's lawyers admitting that his medical exemption application was "tardy." (Their words.) What about making a false sworn statement as to his travel 14 days prior to arriving in Australia? This is not only a stronger case, it's one that people can get behind, pro or con. Straightforward visa issue. This nonsense about public health risk is not going to win either the day, or the battle. And ND's lawyers have already kind of taken it down. I know that Lloyd has about another hour to go, after the break, but if he doesn't come up with something compelling afterwards, he's lost his case. Hopefully there is someone in the break room to remind him of that.

Lets say if the government does lose the case, they will be outrage from people living in Melbourne, not the anti vax brigade.Novak will be booed and TA will have to up the security for sure.People living in Melbourne have been the most locked down city in the world, also people going to Melbourne Park to watch have to be double vaccinated? this is a complete farce.

I don't dispute anything you say. That has been clear for a long time. All I'm saying is that the government, IMO, has been making a poor case. They have a better one in faulty paperwork, on a visa issue. To make Novak a threat to public health and safety is not only a big case to claim, it's to make him as big and important as he wants to be. I know it's a lot to say that it looks like they tripped up on purpose to let him in, and have it over with, but, watching this all, it does.

I can assure you they would not trip on purpose to let him in.,even if it looks like it.
You should have been a lawyer,my dad was and wanted me to follow in his foot steps,I would not mind charging $A50,00.00 dollars a day for appearing in court.Imagine the shoes and bags I could buy :)

I'm sure choosing medical over law is to take a cut. I would hope they wouldn't stuff it up on purpose, but they really are just nattering on about public health, when the defense has done a decent job of destroying that case. Either they can make theirs, better than they have, or they are going to lose.
