Alex Hawke is still taking his time to make a decision on Novak! It's been mused that a couple rounds could be played before kicking Novak out! That would be insane and cost them so much bad international press! It's a "no win" situation of their own creation! He could have gotten the poke, but their own rules/loophole from TA said "come on" and get here! :astonished-face: :anxious-face-with-sweat::fearful-face:

Federer is enjoying life and rehab with his family and team. He does not want ANY part of this fiasco what so ever...

Roger has no interest in touching this. If you don’t have to put yourself in this, why would you?
Why did Rafa and Stefanos have to speak about it? Because something needed to be said about this sheer utter madness what Novak's is trying to get away from. Go back and review what Trent posted in regards that all the major news outlets around the world is making this either the lead or the main feature segment. Roger's voice is as powerful as Michael Jordan's. Novak's plight against the entire country of the Australian government. As a former leader of the ATP players council or whatever, Roger should voice his opinion. What does he care about what Novak thinks? Novak stuck his nose in Osaka's mental health issues with WTA press conferences. I didn's see where anyone said that Nocak should stay out of it. If so I dont recall seeing it.

I don't remember Novak not being supportive of Osaka & her issues w/ the press! Stefanos' gonna wish he'd stayed silent! Novak might take out all his frustration if ever they meet again on court! Tsitsipas' prob. still smarting from losing that FO Final up 2 sets to 0! I had no doubt he'd blow it! ;-)

They are there and he isn’t. They would probably get asked repeatedly until they actually said something.

Yep. If Roger were in Melbourne, he wouldn’t be able to go to the bathroom without 10 reporters following him to ask what he thinks about Novak.

For me, I’m like what are you doing. Say you get to 23-24 slams, people aren’t going to care because they are going to be like sure you got more slams but Roger and Rafa had more character than you ever showed while playing tennis. The honorable thing to do is your visa application had false information on it. You messed up, and you go home.

This is such an interesting point, which hits tennis at its most existential level: It perceives itself as a "gentleman's" sport. Call your own lines, etc. The Handful of Summers of our old pal Gordon Forbes. Though certainly it has morphed into a big business and entertainment. A lot of money is at stake. Iconoclasts have come before to shake up the Pimm's Cup and strawberries and cream sensibilities of the tennis status quo, but never so much as say a Nick Kyrgios, who brings an NBA sensibility to tennis. And now the (white) gloves are really off. The naked ambition exposed. It's really about the money. A tennis star is above the law.

Roger and Rafa are old guard. They understand and adhere to the notion of how tennis likes to see itself, whatever you think of them. I guess at least one question is: is tennis essentially changed? Does winner-take-all supercede tennis's won sense of gentility? Of all the things that this Novak debacle has exposed, I think this is one...how tennis sees itself.

Covid has really brought the bad side of people. I find it ridiculous for djokovic to be treated as if he raped a woman or even committed tax evasion. Isn’t zverev accused of domestic abuse? Yet it’s djokovic who has committed the worst crime?

the man chooses not to pinch himself because he is a young, fit man and vaccines do have side effects. More importantly, vaccinated people are getting covid like crazy, why are they playing or not locked up?

the man entered the country following the rules of entities in australia, australia gave him the exemption

someone in his team checked the box under travel section incorrectly? Do we know what djokovic told the interviewer though? It may be he clarified this during the interview, we don’t know

The above are harmless offenses as a matter of fact, not opinion, fact

but covid has become such a political issue that the behaviour of many is just abnormal, a herd mentality. I wonder how so many nazis decided to kill so many jews? Herd mentality, it’s a dangerous thing. The media looking for ratings and politicians looking to score points start villifying someone, the public jumps on the bangwagon, the herd/mob mentality gets going - djokovic the horrible man, evil, this and that… then you look at his ‘crimes’ and think, wait, what did he do? It’s just crazy, people with this herd and mob mentality is a dangerous thing, this is how nazis started killing jews and kkk started lynching blacks.. what’s next for djokovic? Will he be hanged by a mob and people cheer on?

f crazy!!!!

Rape? Nazis? Tax evasion? You're really jumping the shark here, with the hyperbole.

In case you've been living under a rock the past week or so, Djokovic's "exemption" from vaccination is not exactly valid as entry into Australia, as Covid exposure doesn't meet the requirement. This is a matter for Australia, and its control of its own borders.

As to someone on Novak's team ticking the wrong box, "accidentally," and causing him to make a false statement to the government of Australia, well, that's not generally cool, or something that flies. He signed the statement, which has legal ramifications. It's a bit "the dog ate my homework" to blame it on your agent, I'd say.

In any case, what statements he made to the ABF are out there. I'm not going to find them for you, (I think there is even a link on this thread,) and I'm not going to read them for you, but if you want to read the 41 pages, have at it, and let us know. Thanks in advance.
