The biggest problem for Novak in this whole situation is that he never saw it coming. I think he was quite convinced that all will go smooth from the moment he boarded a plane.

Why he went out to shoot photos day after tested positive to covid is probably because he never tought that info will get that far and see the light of the day. What was his plan if didn't get covid, he would just not play? Whole thing looks orchestrated and not played cautios enough.

What are the chances that he still doesn't play AO? Looks more probable it might happen now that he is getting crusified for reckless behaviour and not being honest.
Under the Immigration act making a false declaration.........is a No No,regardless saying his team did it as a mistake. The Onus lies with you.

I belief is that he never tested positive so he carried on with normal activities. That result is fake according to info circulating among journalists. I asked someone with a graduate degree in computer science and was told the result is fake based on the computer timestamp

Many have, especially with Omicron. I'd love to know if he actually genuinely had it in December. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt there but it's definitely easy to falsify that. Maybe you can get a recovery cert in Serbia with just a positive antigen test and it could be anyone's test result logged.
If he really wanted to cheat his way into the tournament, don’t you think it woudnt have been smarter to falsify the vaccine status and not a PCR test?

The issue for me is saying your team was the one responsible for the errors on your forms. You have to sign off on whether all of the information is accurate. That falls on you. He knew he was going to be on their radar given he didn’t provide them with a vaccination record. You have to be on point. You can’t mess up. His inconsistencies aren’t going to cut it, and they shouldn’t. If I went to Australia, and I did this, they would have sent me home no questions asked.

I'm not sure many would believe he chose to get vaccinated tbh given how he's been vocally against it. Australia SHOULD allow entry to people from overseas with recent recovery but he's in trouble with the authorities now for other reasons: the photo shoots while supposedly positive with covid and maskless close to loads of kids, interview while positive and maskless, travelling to Spain while presumably still infectious and not even declaring that he went there and claiming they ticked the wrong box on the visa application. As if. This is why he's in trouble more than anything.

Novak has put Tennis Australian Open on the map. On CNN, Novak is getting more coverage than Trump.
It’s everywhere:

I agree with this completely. That Tweet he put out projects this. He thought it was over and he'd won.

Either Novak surrounds himself with yes-men who don't counsel him well, or the confidence that wins him so many matches gives him a sense that he's impervious to the rules that apply to others. Probably both. He learned nothing from his Adria Tour. By that I mean, at the very least, to understand that a bit of eyewash over aiming for at least the appearance of a certain amount of care in the face of the corona virus would do him well, whether he believes it necessary or not. He said of that interview, that he'd promised it for a long time and didn't want to disappoint. He could easily told them that he'd tested positive and given it via zoom. Instead, now he's pissed off journalists around the world. It is never a good idea to anger those that have the power of the pen over you.

If his visa does end up being revoked, I hope it is for air-tight legal reasons, not just because he has behaved recklessly in Serbia, or arrogantly on social media. But, to some extent, he seems to have pushed the Australian government to act, because so much has come to light in international media and on the internet. If you boil it down, there was a false statement on his immigration declaration, and blaming his agent is no excuse. A previous/recent case is not a qualification for medical exemption as far as the Oz fed is concerned. And there are questions about the validity of his covid certs, on top of that.

I am hearing Government will cancel his visa today.Novak's lawyers will call an injunction.,which will likely be tomorrow.
Earliest the case can be heard is next week.Novak could be deported next week
This is just Bizarre.Novak can play the AO till the court case can be heard.
I am still trying to get some clarification.
