I dont get the phrase Haters" of Novak, it is such a strong word to tag anyone,I feel.
We cannot all like the same players, that is fact,Novak is a great tennis player, noone can take that away from him, though it is up to tennis fans,if they like him as a person. We dont really know what these tennis players are 'really like' behind close doors.People can only judge what is in front of them and their behavior on court etc.
The hate is real. Just read the comments section under the NYT articles (thousands of comments). The combination of not being vaccinated and the better adversary of their beloved Fedal is just too much for most. Under the belt character assasinations everywhere. Over the top calls for immediate deportation without bothering to consider the other side of the story. Etc. It is really bringing the worst out in people.

I think the other side of the story is coming out concerning his documentation, travel prior to arriving in Australia, and the logistics of activities he was doing while reporting a positive Covid test. Those are all questions that he should have to answer. He arrived in a country that has had strict Covid procedures, and now there is concern he possibly contradicts information on his visa documentation.

Unfortunately, the majority of the members of this forum confirm your statement

It is understandable fans are going to defend their fav players, that is acceptable.Still there has been a lot of 'grey area's' in this case they do need to be cleared up.I guess we are all being Judge Judy at the moment.

The judge said yesterday that you were wrong. Will I trust you now more than him?
The judge didn’t address anything to do with Novaks entry into Australia, other than a technical issue at the border. The judge didn’t address the discrepancies on Novaks story at all…

I think in terms of the partisan posts, I’d find it hard to believe that if Rafa was in Novaks shoes right now, Djoker fans here would be proper and impartial, believing all his contradictions and be wishing him well.

But in fact, even the most impartial person has to be asking questions about Novaks arrival in Australia. Even his own fans have to be wondering, I’d imagine…

This is if a player is involved in an ATP event, not a major. If all of this were about Novak going to a Masters 1000, for example, then it would be relevant.

In vain. Wink at the blind ...
